Oooh that's rough.
The ones that came with my corksport are holding up decently...had the collars replaced due to rusting out in a single winter (second set held up way better). Could just see if they'd sell you a set?

Yeah JBR does sell a set, but tomorrow I'll go look at a local Brafasco/Fastenal or Spaenaur for a 1.25" clamping collar that's made out of a thicker gauge stainless steel, or something.

I didn't use the retaining collars on my car.

Anyone been to Hot Rod Scott's for exhaust work?
Just got my muffler in the mail so I want to get it welded in, I ideally didn't want to have to go back to the other shop where I got the 3'' Custom Exhaust so I am looking around Mississauga/Etobicoke.
never heard of them, for all my exhaust jobs if i cant do it myself i go to noysboys
They always have some pretty nice vehicles they are working on when evere I drive by.

Lol ya, that is kind of expected... I have the muffler in my trunk so they just have to install it. Went over at lunch yesterday and Scott said it would be around $150 to install which isn't terrible.
Considering going FMIC now but since I am going to be a Meth addict I am not sure if it's worth it or not... tax return money has me tempted lol...
Just not sure the FMIC is worth it since I have the Cp-e TMIC already which flows great, it just gets heat soaked after a while but I would think the meth would cool things down a fair bit anyways.
Just curious if anyone was ever made the switch from TMIC to FMIC with methanol injection and it made a difference with the stock turbo.
I was thinking about getting the CX racing FMIC piping kit with a TR6 intercooler which wouldn't break the bank then selling my Cp-e TMIC which would make up for some of the difference in cash.
The thing is with your build is that you need that FMIC if you are going to produce all the extra power and heat, it would heat soak a TMIC in no time without meth.
thats the same fmic i have, and its great! definately the tmic makes a difference once u go aftermarket but the fmic is even better. cx makes it at a reasonable price too and if u sell ur tmic, it wont cost you so much in the end to do the fmic uprade.
What is going on here
How will meth help with heat soak?
The CPe tmic cools off almost immediately once the air starts to move
It cools off to an extent but it still remains warm, even when moving the TMIC will be warmer from the heat of the exhaust gases so even with Meth the charge will still be a little heated up compared to a FMIC.
I was just curious where the tipping point for BAT's, the cooler the charge the more dense so it makes more power but at what point does that temperature not matter anymore because the air is already as dense as it can get (similar with all fluids).
From what I have read of MSF: TMIC + Meth ~ ambient air temperature so FMIC + Meth ~ cooler then ambient?
I guess I will ask the tooners on MSF to see if benefits outweigh the cost.
You can't pressurize air to that extent and have it cooler than ambient. Even with meth.
Phil doesn't have meth and he's pushing a cool 300 whp
I was doing it for the cleaning plus a little power, I will get a tune as soon as all of my stuff is installed. Just waiting on the JBR order. Right now I am using a stratified OTS tune and it's pretty awesome but I know mspeed does good work too so I'm up in the air right now.
Hot Rod Scotts does good work but they are a rip. Go to JPG Exhaust in Oakville.

I know lol... I am not a noob at this point. I just like to hear what people have to say about the mods they have or have done. (That being the FMIC's)
One thing I can definately comment on is the OTS stratified maps are better than the OTS cobb maps, the butt dyno can feel it.
And I will look into JPG Exhaust, thanks guys.
Hole In Block Tuning! I'll give you HIB.
