Default SOLD - My '05 2.3 GT Sedan

    Hello Everyone,

***First off I scanned the print-out to my computer here at work but don't know how to upload it to this post so can somebody please help me if I email them the scanned copy?***

Finally got around to going to the Dyno and thought I would post the numbers.

Unfortunately I was unable to complete a run before having the CAI installed as this mod was added last year already.

I just wanted to see what the difference would be after installing the Magnaflow CBE from garage16 so here it goes.

First run was stock with full generic brand CAI from Nextmod and it put down 137.6 WHP with 138.1 torgue but this run was left off the sheet. Rev'd to 6000 RPM (Not bad as I expected 130 WHP or so)

Second run was also stock with full generic brand CAI from Nextmod and it put down 138.1 WHP and 138.5 Torgue. Red lined to 7000 RPM(Not bad as I expected 130 or so)

Third and final run after installing the Magnaflow CBE was not as good as I expected it to be but better than what the techs expected. Techs advised exhaust would add 1-2 WHP if anything but I ended up squeezing out another 3 WHP in total.

    Final result:

Stock '05 GT engine with full generic CAI and Magnaflow CBE put out 141.1 WHP and 141.8 Torgue running on 94 octane and winter wheel set-up.

Not bad since there are no headers, increased timing, etc etc but not as good as my buddies chipped 1.8 Jetta GLI turbo putting out 188.3 WHP and 210 torgue...bastard LOL..but at least my car sounds nicer than his!

Thanks for looking and if anybody has ideas on how to get to 160 WHP without turboing or other expensive mods, please share

    cheers
    Jeron

Right now your exhaust are still very restrictive despite the cbe since you still have 2 stock cats in place, to squeeze more juice get headers, a straight pipe or a high-flow cat, and a cpe standback and you can probably hit 160whp mark.

I think stiffer motor mounts might help too

All good suggestions but I don't want my car to be super load with headers and straight pipe plus I want to pass emissions without any hassles.

    Cheers

i honestly don't think it is worth it for you to buy so many parts for so little gain, but I do have full I/H/E and I do feel a small difference in my second and third gear pull

    Thanks for sharing.
I'm surprised a generic CAI actually showed a gain LOL

+1 on Shu's comments. Your exhaust will be restricted to its slimmest point. Whether its thru the crinkle bends or thru the cat.

Timing, and fuel. What about fluids and spark? Have those been upgraded?

I would look into a 4-2-1 header and a hi flow cat. Then add an ultra-quiet resonator if you want to tone it down a bit

    What ECU Flash?
The reflash will (but doesn't always) add HP/TQ. Sometimes it just changes the curve making it more responsive.
