    Default Clutch Kits and Installation

    Hi all,

I purchased a used 2007 M3 GT and things run great so far. My only concern is the following:

At 85000 KM the clutch is slipping; higher gears won't accelerate; lower gears are starting to have a tough time on inclines; driving on the highway has become a highly conservative affair.

I'm assuming the person before me didn't drive stick too well or learned on this car.

There is a similar thread here where phantomblue talks is wondering about his clutch slippage so early in it's mileage: (http://www.torontomazda3.ca/forum/sh...052#post512052)

    Anyway,

Since it looks like I'm going to have to replace my clutch, I'm wondering if anyone can suggest some kits to install instead of the OEM one. Reading around it seems like StreetPerformance on Woodbine is the place to go for installation, but I need to purchase the part first.

Any suggestions and places to research up on?

I'm not a super enthusiast (yet) so med-high end kits are probably not worth reading up on now.

    Thanks!!

    K

If you want an OEM replacement kit, Exedy makes one. If you want something with a little more bite, go with stage 1. Exedy, ACT, or even a Mazdaspeed accessory clutch. To save on installation cost, you might consider installing a light weight flywheel at the same time.

+1 on what donutz said. i had mine replaced at the dealer at 40k and it was 1200$ at the dealer. same as you, i got the car used and the clutch blew 10k after i got it. and ive put 150k on this one now and taught 3 ppl how to drive stick with it so its not my driving.

i had no choice to do it at the dealer as it happenned 2 days before moving from guelph to ottawa and no one had the aftermarkets in stock. all special order.

@donutz/gabbygenier; Thanks guys! I'll take a look and see what kind of deals I can get. Street Performance's price comparison shopper has some low prices it seems.
