Ultra94 Sponsorship for TM3

I know not all of TM3 runs Ultra94, but most MS3 guys swear by it. As a forum with the traffic we generate, I think this is something we should pursue. We are a great avenue for them to get the word out.

Toronto Subaru Forums is already sponsored...here's their announcement thread:

Since we now supposedly have the capacity to pursue this, let's see if that capacity is also capable to make this happen.

EDIT: we may be past their deadline, but I think this is still something we can pursue.

but the prob is.. i dunno if they will sponsor a car forum that has cars that don't use 94ultra. Since us normal Mazda3 people.. we don't use 94 ultra.

I kinda agree with vlad. What does it matter if you save .20 cents when they will raise prices .35-50 cents more ?
They trick you into believing your getting a deal when your just not getting as badly ripped off as the guys who pay the full price.

If they're smart...or if WE'RE that good, then they'll see that this is a great opportunity for Petro-Canada proper to support us. We should be in this (or these opportunties) together as a board.

$0.20/L is on current price. Them jacking up prices or not has nothing to do with this...it's till $0.20/l off the price at the pumps...

But if what you really mean, is you want gas stations to burn down, you're entitled to your opinion.

Well, the entire model range of subarus don't use 94 or high octane gas either.

I saw their thread yesterday. There was suppsoedly a contest on Facebook, and MBNTO then told me that it was Mid-April for the application deadline. Having said that, I do not believe TSC gets the kind of traffic we do, and with our diverse demographic, I believe our board should get Petro-Canada's attn rather than just the Ultra94 marketing guys.

TSC also use the sponsorship to further their charitable work. The cards are rewarded to members who help raise funds or organize events. I'm not sure as to how many cards or exactly how they are given,
but I believe this will be an endeavour worth pursuing. Obviously, with the Subie board, they may target the "enthusiasts" a bit more, but hey, grocery getters need gas too!

I don't disagree with you that price gouging sucks. But that's not really the point. It's not like we can rise up as a board and boycott anyone...can we?...lol...

I don't think any other gas retailer will run something like this...not like I know or anything, but I haven't seen it. The only other company I'd consider running their gas is Shell.

I just thought this one would be the easiest one to appraoch, since they already have a contest.

With regards to the price, it's the same everywhere (almost)...$0.20 off is at the pumps...whether it's 1.50 today or 1.70 tmr or .95/l in June, you still get $0.20 off of that.

This is what I've been telling people who say to me "don't pump gas on XXX date". Because that approach is useless. If we can organize enough people to get on board with this, they'd have to lower prices or go out of business.

Those tactics don't work because everyone just fills up the day before or the day after so the average sales for the week are still the same. Plus there are a lot of people who just say they are doing it but still fill up.

Everyone needs gas, and the gas companies, gov and everyone else knows this. They are getting away with it now, and will continue to do so when it even reaches $1.50.

Boycott the big companies as vlad said. Petro, Esso, etc. Pump ZERO of their gas.
Use smaller companies only.

2) go brankrupt (granted, over time.. but they can't operate at a loss day after day)

I agree but there is never enough motivation to get people to NEVER use Esso, Petro, etc. It just won't happen. Maybe I'm not being optimistic enough but I'm just being realistic.
