Question "Plug and Play" HID installation questions

    Hey guys
I bought the Ollo HID kit from the Garage16 deal and despite the "plug and play" label Im honestly not sure what all plugs go where as they didnt come with any instructions. At the risk of sounding stupid has anyone got some pics of their installation of this set or any advice on installing them?
    Thanks and sorry lol.

    Have you searched at all?

What did you receive with the kit?

I did search and it seems as though I'm missing the relay harness. Although I do recall being told I dont need the relay harness (07 GS). All I have is the bulbs and the ballasts.

That's correct, you don't need one.

A wiring harness isn't a bad idea though, due to the high draw of the ballasts on the stock wiring. If you were to go with a wiring harness, here's a diagram I drew a while back which makes it pretty easy:

EDIT: Note that the right-side stock headlamp wiring is now useless, and can be taped off or otherwise sealed as it's not in use.

Where does the OEM plug go into if the bulb plug goes into the ballast?

you dont NEED one, but its generally recommended that you do get one, makes the install easier and helps power wise.
also a "capacitor" is also good to look into, to help prevent any flickering if you're running them as DRLs, you can either make your own, or order a set off ebay (which is what i did), relatively cheap, and if you have a relay harness you only need ONE (1) capacitor so you could split a set of 2 with a buddy (which is what i did) or sell the second.

get the Relay harness, and it'll plug straght into that, it'll make the install alot easier.

go to the HOW-TO section and look up how to install, youtube also has a video on the HID install (some asian dude) on a mazda. but he doesn't use a relay harness; its still a good video to watch to get the idea of how things piece together

    IIRC...

the OEM headlight harness plugs into the RED lead on the Ballast and the BLACK lead on the ballast connects to the HID Bulb. All the other plugs connected the bulb is dummy-proof, and cant be messed up. You will also need to zip tie (or use velcro tape) to secure the ballast and igniter to the body.

Also, you will need to modify the rubber piece (that ties the 4 wires connected to the bulb) to act as a spacer when putting in the HID bulb into the housing.

This is not necessary for 2007-2009, so does not apply to the OP since his DRLs are the high-beams.

his DRL's are on connected to the Hi-beams. He will not have a DRL flicker issue - hence, no need for the relay harness

Do not use this method for a spacer. It's cheap. Pick up an actual spacer from Peter at Nextmod or another supplier.

basically you have to read as many threads, and how-to's and watch as many videos as you can, and then piece them together.

My HIDs are not connected using a relay harness, but if I were to do it again, I would use one just to be safe. I have a 2007.

you MIGHT have to trim the spades, depending on the kit, sometimes the plugs are bit too wide and you have to clip them to make them fit (just a heads up)
