Thanks Jeff!
So there will be only 1 engine option for now, the 2.0 SkyActiv with 155 hp?

I heard the SkyActiv-D is coming in 2013.

I'm interested to see what is in the Tech package, along with the other trim lines..... but it continues the tradition of only being able to get all the toys on the fully loaded model (including AWD). I know some of it is business, some is grouping together things people are likely to order together (i.e. many buyers of all electronic doodads would be likely to get highest-spec model anyway) but I think its annoying not to be able to get those types of packages on at least the mid-range models (esp if you don't want AWD).
I'd be interested in a diesel
*le sigh, we get 'hosed', more so with the gt:
http://www.autoblog.com/2012/02/06/2...d-from-20-695/That $20,695 price point refers, of course, to the CX-5 Sport with the (remarkably good) six-speed manual transmission. Opting for the six-speed automatic will set you back an additional $1,400, and if you want to add all-wheel drive, be prepared to dish out another $1,250. Moving up, Touring models with either front- or all-wheel drive start at $23,895 and $25,145, respectively, and are only available with the six-speed automatic gearbox. Lastly, the range-topping Grand Touring comes in at $27,045 (FWD) and $28,295 (AWD), and with the $1,325 technology package added to the GT trim, you'll be looking at $29,620 for a fully loaded CX-5.
anyone knows who Mazda partners with for their AWD? Interested in this car for my family for around town
Jeff - Would you happen to know if there is a back up camera on the CX5.. I'm in the market to purchase a new car in the next 2-3 weeks.

nope only one. one to each dealer only so far. the last one on the truck went back on. we got 2nd from the end. i know
.. maybe mazda? lol lets just say from back to front, inside and out the CX5 GT with AWD is amazing, even under the vehicle impressed me. that being said it does have a nice touch display inside which allows you to change preferences.
i think the CX5 will do very well. even better then the CX7. but we will see
Any test drives available. I'm in the market for a new vehicle.
We got the last one last night..
The interior is really nice.. Soft touch dash, door panels are padded nicely, and USB!
The only downside is the location of the start button.. its directly behind the wiper stalk, which is a really odd location. Its not easy to see/access.
Other than that, I like that it finally has the 3-click signal and all menu features for lights, lock options etc. right through the radio.
It would have been nice for them to keep the I-drive style controller.
Other than that, the interior screams BMW/Audi. I felt like I was in my sister's 2011 X3 for a while.
That poor, poor CX-7.. It will be missed.
