Default 2010 & 2011 Mazda 3 HIDs may be an issue for all

Okay so i tried two different ballasts made by different companies and 3 different HID bulbs and 2 different relay harnesses

What i noticed is that the passenger side will sometimes start up upon initial engine startup.. OR it will always start up if you start your engine first and then start your lights about 5-10 seconds afterwards..

I believe this is because the ballasts require alot of power from the battery during initial startup and it's not getting enough juice because your alternator is always running... I always thought it was a ballast problem until recently. Why is it always the passenger side? I can't explain that yet.

Now, with that said, it could also be the battery that may be defective and not providing enough juice.

Don't worry mazda 3 2010/2011 folks!! just quit using the auto light function and remember to switch it to OFF before you leave the car so you won't look wierd with one working HID on the road.. That's if you experience this problem

First I'm confused. Mazda 2 or Mazda 3?

This is a common problem with Mazda 3s and aftermarket HIDs. If you have initial firing problems that aren't hardware related issues, you have have to manually turn on (fire) the lights after you start the car.

Maybe you should post it here to help allow TM2 to grow.

I have never hear of these issues with any quality after market H.I.D kit that are installed correctly using the supplies 2 wiring harnesses that draw from the battery. Are you guys leaving your DRL's hooked up when your supposed to disconnect them if it uses the same low beam the H.I.D bulb will. I know the harness only uses the factory headlight plug as a trigger to then draw power from battery. Mazda 3's must use park light for trigger not the harness to the factory bulb as DRL's do not supply 12v.
