Understanding Carproof

I just checked out a very nice looking 2007 mazda 3, but in the carproof under Claims Records it says "Damage to Vehicle" and under category it says "unknown" and under damage amount it says "$12 408". the dealer tried telling me that this amount was carproof's estimated value of the car, and not the cost in repairs. is this true? why would the value of the car be under a heading that sayd damage amount? it just doesn't really make sense and some clarification would help please

I would leave it .. but to answer your question I would call up the carproof they can provide you details on what there things mean.
