Default Probably a dumb question... about all-weather mats.

Kind of a sad story! I purchased a new 2010 Maxda3 GX in April 2010 as my first car, since I had just got my first job. About a month ago I was in a pretty bad accident and the car was totalled. It had only slightly over 20,000 km on it. I can't believe I wasn't hurt - no one was - so I have pretty good faith in the safety of the M3. Luckily I had a good insurance policy, so I'm now the proud (and very lucky) new owner of a new 2012 Mazda3 GX. I got black instead of Grey this time, and tinted the windows - I love it, although it's not much fun shopping for a new car because your "still new" car was smushed

Anyways, after the accident I salvaged what I could, including the all-weather mats. My sister told me she got them all, but now that the car is long gone and I just picked up new car, I realize she only grabbed 3 of the 4 when I went to install them. And of all to leave behind, I'm missing the driver's mat.

I obviously don't want to buy a new set of 4 for just the 1 mat, so my question is: 1) is it possible to buy just one from the dealer? Assuming the answer is no; 2) Where could I find just the driver's one? I really liked the custom mat since the fit was perfect, and I'm sad it died with the car

I also wanted to thank the regular contributors here who helped me the first time around when I bought the car! I've been gone for a while, but this board is really an awesome resource for the clueless like me!

I think if you go weather tech, you can just get the fronts.

Yep, the WeatherTech hard mats are excellent. I think I paid $140 for just the fronts 3 years ado and given how well they work and how good they look the price was a bargain.

Check on Kijiji. I've seen single mats or used ones for sale for very little. It's not worth spending $140 for just front mats. Worst case scenario, you can buy the pair on kijiji and sell the passenger mat.

Dealers only sell the all weather and carpet mats as sets. Buy weathertech and be done, I found the Mazda all weather mats to be pretty useless as a winter mat. I sold the all weather mats and bought weather tech front and back.

looks like I should look into the weather techs... do I have to order, or can I find them in store in the GTA?

Several of our sponsors and affiliate dealerships sell the Weathertech's. Check those sections.

Mazda branded Weathertechs are currently on special for $157.50 plus tax for a set (front and rear). You can buy the front Weathertech branded one's for $130.00 plus tax.

That's a steal, I paid $209 for front and back last year for the weathertech not Mazda branded.

weather tech for just the front driver (or both fronts) would be a great idea. especially the driver because it obviously gets alot more use than any other seat
