Exclamation Posting & You! General TM3 user guidelines

Over the last little while, it has come to our attention that there is an increasing frequency of posts where members are going too far with their comments about other members, or are posting with what might be called a "bad attitude". With that in mind, the mod team thought it was time for a quick refresher on posting guidelines and the general tone expected on the forum.

We are all aware that there is a fair amount of good-natured BS and sniping among members, which is part of what makes TM3 an awesome place to hang out, so we don't want to stifle that. At the same time, the forum should be a friendly environment, not a place where drama ensues in every thread. Not saying we're there yet, but let's make sure it doesn't happen.

Keeping that in mind, the following are things that will not be tolerated on the forum:
    • Flaming (posts made to deliberately incite or perpetuate a conflict or argument)
    • Personal attacks on fellow members; making vulgar or obscene comments
    • Harassment, sexual or otherwise
    • "Calling people out". If you have a personal issue with someone contact them via Private Message (PM) or email, DO NOT resort to dragging the issue out in public. If personal contact can't resolve the problem, contact the mod team and we'll do our best to help.
    • "Attitude". Check the attitude at the door. This is a friendly social environment, and we all expect members to play well with others.
    • And of course, posting spam (commercial solicitation from non-sponsoring entities)

Threads and/or posts that violate the above guidelines will be reviewed by moderators and normally deleted without question. Mods may attempt to resolve conflicts/issues privately as well.

Members who repeatedly cross these lines will be warned and/or receive temporary bans from the forums. Permanent bans are a last resort (except for spammers who are immediately visited by the Ban Hamster).

    Reporting Objectionable Material

Threads or posts may be reported to the forum moderators via the "Report Post" link under each member that posts in a thread. It is denoted by a small black triangle w/exclamation mark below each poster's screen name, located on the left of your screen.

    Think before you post

On the other side of the coin, you are responsible for the things you post. It is still a public forum and we would rather you use good judgement in the posts you make, instead of asking the mod team to clean things up after the fact.

    TL;DR

So, to sum up: respect your fellow members. BS good, flaming and personal attacks bad.

Exclamation Re: Posting & You! General TM3 user guidelines

Time for a 2015 thread bump, both for newbies to read for the first time, and for everyone else to remind themselves of the rules.

From above, the following are things that will not be tolerated on the forum:

With the summer event schedule about to kick off, it's also worthwhile noting that we anticipate all TM3 members treat each other with the same respect in person as they would here on the forum.
