Is Plasti Dip safe to touch/handle for extended periods of time?

I'm interested in dipping some parts of my computer and was wondering if prolonged touching will have chemicals rub off onto your hands, etc.

Uncertain, but you can always use nitrile gloves while handling

It will have no effect on your skin at all. Plasti dipping is easy. Make sure you use several coats and if you want watch a quick YouTube video if you get it on your paint it will peel right off any over spray can be wiped off with a soft cloth. I have never done computer parts only my car parts

I haven't done it but from what I remember how other did it people didn't remove the chrome.
    They cleaned.
Used vaseline or similar to where they didn't want it to stick.
    Covered areas for overspray.
Spray several layers waiting 10-15 minutes between layers.

One thing some people mentioned was that it looked like crap after a couple of years because it started to peel in some spots. So you may have to redo after 2 years.

@Axela2010 I had my rims dipped matte black and what I found is dirt really sticks to it and it starts to fade from being in the sun so much

Clean the area the tape around the logo (leave a fair bit of space between the logo and the back of the car, it makes peeling easier. For spraying I usually do:
    - Spray once, light coat, wait 15 mins
    - Spray second time, light coat, wait 15 mins
    - Spray third coat, heavier than the first two, wait 15 mins
    - Spray fourth coat, heavier than the first three, wait 15 mins
    - Spray final fifth coat, same amount as 4th coat, let dry/cure for 2 hours

Then to peel, around the logo should be easier. For the insides of the logo, use a toothpick to poke a hole in the middle then peel slowly.

Vaseline? On the painted areas? Never seen anyone do that in the videos ive seen. It obviously peels right off the paint but being my first time ever dipping no matter how many times I watch instruction videos it still scares me to spray it on my paint. Here goes nothing

    Or KY jelly. Lol. Joking.
Vaseline on the areas where you don't want it to stick. Use a qtip or something.
Will check other some write ups and see if my memory serves me. Haha.

Edit: a quick search I didn't find anything about vaseline. Lol.
But other good tips were use rubbing alcohol to clean because water and soap will leave a film.

As long as you do enough layers, it'll peel off fine.

First time I did it, I did 5 light coats and it was a pain to peel off.
Second time, I did the 2 light, 3 heavier coats and it peeled off without issue.

Does anyone know a place/shop that can dip rims while they're on the car? I know WrapId only dip rims when they're off the car. Reason i'm asking is that i'm not confident enough to dip my rims on my own lol

Another trick I've seen people do is placing business cards or playing cards between the rim and tire to prevent over spray from getting on the tire, although I imagine it works better when the rims are off the car lying down horizontally

That only really works when the wheels are off the car, it's easier to place a garbage bag over the rotor

I just rub any type of oil on the rubber. Fastest way and also around the parts for over spray and it's also better to get a trigger handle. Not sure why people us a lot of tape and news paper. I've done a lot of testing on this product, it's great for sealing parts like your 3rd brake light for rust proofing and also around bolts like around trunk area.

Also through time, it will eat away the gloss protectant from plastic parts and you may also see a fade from using plasti dip... Great positive look, but also minor small damages. Don't leave it to long. Keep your clear coat shinny, it will fade from plasti dip.

A long time ago, I was using this product to seal the boat from water leak and spraying my room walls. I've used this products since 1987 it has been around way before I was born, I think it was created 1972 for sealing parts.

I recently dipped my grill, rims, emblems, and the plastic pieces around the fog lights. I had a small tear form when I was putting a rim back on. I took some of the leftover dip in my spray can and applied a small amount under the tear, placed the tear back down smooth on the rim and applied a quick coating over the tear and this glued it all back into place and has been holding for the past 2 weeks with little to no visible difference to the rest of the rim.

I just got my hands on a spare set of stock wheels to use as my winter rims and decided to paint them the gunmetal grey plasti dip just like my summer rims. I figured out the easiest way to remove the overspray from the tires was to peel off as much as possible them grab a firm rubber device (I used a puck) and just rub the plasti dip and it comes right off with no chemicals or effort

lay the tire on the group, put a fan of playing cards between the tire and the wheel edge, then paint. You'll get little to no overspray on the tires themselves. reminds me i need to change mine this year.. last year was blue, i'm thinking electric green or purple

You can go around this playing cards thing by putting tire shine on the tires before dipping them.
Then peel off the stuff from the tire after dipping.
Just have to re prep the rims with alcohol to make sure they are clean.
