    Default EGR delete?

How many of you guys have your EGR deleted? Just wondering if I should invest in getting one for $20 from JBR since I'm already ordering a couple other things through the Mspeed GB.

I just read this thread and seems like it's the way to go.

All the crap that goes through the EGR gunks up the motor......blocking it removes that problem.

Hold off folks, I think Paul had mentioned something during the seminar that blocking the EGR might not be a good idea. Something about the BATs.. Sorry, I can't remember what it was exactly..

    ^Misinterpretation?

    EGR blocking is recommended.

Thanks Fobio, I'll add a EGR block plate to my JBR GB order today.

can you confirm the pricing to get that done please?
Not sure how much it is to get it done, but it's only $20 to buy the EGR block plate from JBR and there is a Mspeed GB going on right now for JBR products, so it would be fairly cheap if you get in on the GB.

Yea, I was there when Paul said this (I was the one asking), he did say that it's there for a reason.
However he also stated that he will buy one and test it out himself and see if he will recommend it or not.

Correct. Deleting the EGR will increase NOx emissions, and could potentially damage your cats. Theres more to it than that, ill have to recheck my books later.
But hey, if you're running catless, be my guest!

there is nothing more too it then that.

The EGR block off is strictly a close loop function. It reduces N0x emissions. However by running the car at 17:1 like are some are doing save a noticeable amount of fuel however N0x production is too high for the EGR to do anything about anyway. I would only really recommend keeping the EGR if you could command it's function. If not there is really no benefit to having it, if you are tuning for power and for fuel economy then delete it. Not to mention you will be keeping the intake track clean.

Dave's car has a permeant EGR delete. This I wouldn't recommend since you will need the EGR functional to pass emission testing.
