    Default performance muffler

    hey everyone,

I recently bought an 08 Mazda3 GT sedan and I'm looking to replace the muffler with a magnaflow one in hopes of getting a nice deep sound. I've been searching through forums for the right size that will fit with the current stock exhaust I have as I don't want to spend $500+ on a complete cat-back system. I found a site called Magnadirect that offers free shipping in Canada. I was looking at this muffler:

    http://www.magnadirect.ca/product/12215

what do you guys think? Will this fit with my current stock piping or fit close enough with some minor welding? I am assuming that center/centre would fit better than centre-offset? Im getting this idea based on the full catback system for my car from magnadirect seen here:

    http://www.magnadirect.ca/product/16786

Any input/ideas would be very appreciated!! Thanks

    Order it thru a sponsor.
Magnaflow is very common and not very expensive.

As far as size - get under your car and measure the body and tip length. (but it won't really matter anyway LOL)

Then go to mangaflow.com - find a style you like, write down the model number, and PM the sponsors to see who will give you the best price.

Find a local exhaust shop that will weld in the muffler.

yeah its a catback and i have the race pipe/resonator delete at home...didn't put it on cuz I was worried it would be too loud but I'm gonna go put it on the next chance I get. Its loud right now but I already got used to it and I wouldn't mind it louder =P

And yes I paid an indiscriminately low price for it, which I would prefer not to divulge because I will likely sell it in a year or two =P. Prolly also helped that I got to Ivan for my oil changes and etc but yeah.

its funny because someone was looking for a ms3cbe on the bst and i told them to give ivan @ igarage a call. I guess they didn't so when the universal borla i was gonna put on last weekend didnt fit I bought it and put it on right away at velocity.

Loving it so far, its great because its a nice low tone and is almost unnoticeable when cruising/idle

when you hit 3-4000 rpms however....i have eargasms LOL.

so in summary, I would wait for a ms3 cbe. It usually sells for ~150, which is cheaper/same as a muffler and the sound is awesome. basically what everyone told me when I was asking about putting on a borla universal muffler.

yeah i was looking into the ones with tips but it seems that its for cars that have the muffler seated near the bumper since the tip is connected to it already. apparently the 3 sedan has it further back. am I right?

Hey guys just a heads up
Do not buy from Magnadirect.ca!! ordered catback, then tried to request rma number to
return within 10 days- they don't have a phone number, and don't answer emails. so no
returns, be warned!!! , buy somewhere that has a phone number!!!
