Smile Yet another 75 duro CP-E Rear motor mount experience...

So I thought I write a few lines here regarding the CP-E 75 duro Rear motor mount that was installed to my car. I initially bought the mount used ($80) and the seller did not use it long before switching to something "better" and the mount looked like it was in great condition, etc...

I know there are many reviews out there but just wanted to post my experience...

After getting the car back from Mazda, yes I had it installed ($65) there because I am a lazy mofo, the first thing I noticed was:

    1. When I started my car the engine noise was noticeably louder.
    2. Idling under 1000 RPM caused some decent vibrations in the cabin and my steering wheel vibrated like a mofo. Above 1000 RPM no vibrations.

So driving and maybe I wasn't use to driving the car yet but the clutch did seem a bit different. I can't pin point what exactly yet but I can tell something had "changed". I only had the car for maybe a month and got the RMM installed a couple days ago so maybe I'm not use to driving it yet. As far as gear smoothness... I didn't notice any change at all. If it was "smoother" than it must have been a really small margin. Again I haven't been driving it much after the install, just to and from work.

I read a lot of reviews and most people seem to say wow the car is completely different now after the install! Well either that shiiet was installed incorrectly or I'm just a complete noob the car feels pretty much the same to me, apart from the above. I have yet to launch the car so I can't comment on wheel hop but on harder acceleration it does feel a bit more "solid".

Was the RMM and install worth it? hmm. yeah probably since it does feel a bit more stable on hard acceleration and the cost wasn't all that much. Was it a COMPLETELY new car? Not really or it was really exaggerated.

Hope to do a bit more driving with it to figure out how people thought it was a completely new car.

    My 2 cents.

Found quite a difference in my 06 GT using the 60 Duro rear. Much more solid feel to the car, better eng./trans. connection w/ only mild vibes as you mention. Wheel hop significantly reduced but with our open diff., not entirely eliminated. When installed new I thought the change was almost too much but it mellowed w/ a little time. Over all one of my favorite mods.

When starting in first, don't let your rpm's drop below 1k and then you will definitely notice a difference in the launch.
If you do, all you will get it an incredibly vibratey car.
    I myself notice a difference.

Guys, maybe I was expecting too much after reading all the stellar reviews! I was expecting something really drastic in terms of shift quality hehe. It's on a ms3 and the shift quality seems to be the same.

You are right though and I probably don't rev my car above 1000 rpm too much when shifting to first. I have mainly just driven it normally and not aggressively since the change.

I'm still happen with the switch over though just because it does feel a bit more solid.

Seems like you may have expected a 100$ RMM to turn your car into a lambo.
Personally, I noticed the difference I expected.

Gots mine in yesterday and yes, the vibrations are there at idle. Not really as much as others would say. Noticed an improvement in launching the car, shifter smoothness and yeah, the exhaust did sound different. Only time you'd actually feel the vibrations is when you rev it up from 700 - 1000 rpm, then the car shakes like a mofo!

But overall, I just loved the car even more! Zoom Zoom!!!!

I got the ETD as well, so that kinda added to the shaky shake shake. It'll stay til I get the side mounts.

    For now, it's half-racecar!

Had Jimmy install a new 60duro today and I sure noticed a difference right away. As previously mentioned, I think I'm not quite used to the change with regards to the clutch and 1st/2nd launching. I find that mild/moderate take offs are quite harsh/vibey from 1000rpm to about 2000rpm. I will see how she goes after it breaks in a little. Oddly enough, running the A/C does not increase vibe or noise - hurray! Exhaust sound has changed (positively I might add) nicely as well. Almost makes me want to get a new muffler!

The funniest part has to be CPe's instructions/warnings:

"please be careful when first driving. The vehicles driving characteristics will be different. The change in vehicle power and performance may take the inexperienced drive by surprised. the user must be careful...." LOL!

    Highly recommended mod!
