    Default angels eyes

i'm thinking of getting angel eyes for my car (the Orion v2 LEDs). I've looked around and apparently it costs $200 to install them. They have a rating of about 200K hours. For those that have had them for a few years now (3 or more), are they still bright now? Has it died yet for any of u guys?

Also, how does it look at night with HIDs turned on as well? Are they still visible or are they only useful for daytime use? I'm pretty sure they wouldnt be bright enough on their own at night right?

    Are they worth it overall?

They're still visible with HIDs on, and no they are not bright enough on their own as they don't reflect light at all basically. The LEDs will last you a very long time and they're also brighter than the CCFL ones most of us have.

Message Stoked and ask to see his set, as I know he's got LED Angel Eyes and they're hella bright!

I have done a fare share of instals on the angel eyes and have come across the ballasts burning out rather then anything else being a problem. the brightness is generally controlled by the ballasts though

Has anyone done this on 2011 lights? I plan on getting them as well, but don't want to do the install myself. Is it still really expensive to get done? And anyone got some pics?

2010 and up is still a little tricky. It can be done but has a higher price then the previous gens until I fix the flaws

Are you buying them local or online?
Is the $200 for the angel eyes and install or install only? If install only that's steep.

^ Install only, via McGuyver at least. I believe other places would probably charge more.

2004-2009 models 200$ for instal is more then fair. It is a 3-4 hour process even with the oven.
The 2010's are still a learning curve for me. If you do not believe me then contact celestspeed3. I did his headlights and it took 3 attempts to get them to be leak free. the process to get them to the stage of leak free took about 6 hours total and I am NOT BS'ing

    +1 on the fair price.

Jackal, you can get CCFL Angel Eyes for first generation models for ~$100, however I think TRS would be the best place to get Angel Eyes for your gen. Pricing shouldn't be significantly more for the rings themselves than on the 2004-2009 models.

    6 hours to install wow.
I wonder if these would be easier to install on a 2010+. A bit pricier than the $100 mentioned. Can get a harness for it too for $29.99.

there are these "chromium" type on sale right now for $99 (reg $249!) from the same manufacturer as the Orion v2: http://www.umnitza.com/mazda3-predat...yes-p-320.html

is this a gas-based one similar to the CFLs? would it be less bright than the LED?

I doubt the install would be much easier. It is the baking open, re-sealing, then baking again that takes a fair bit of time. That and the wiring.
