Default Rear Motor Mount on an automatic? Your thoughts are welcome

    Hi.

Even with my SRI, I get the occasional wheel hop but not as much as I probably would if I drove a manual or had a GT with a larger engine. Most of the wheel hop happens if I am on an incline. If you live in Toronto, it happens when I leave the intersection, driving North, on Dovercourt at Dupont just before you go under the bridge.

I need some honest feedback and wondering what I might notice if I install my JBR RMM on my car. I drive it in the manual mode but I know it's not like driving with a clutch. I am on the fence about installing it. If it was an install that I was 100% sure about, like switching my exhaust or tinting or installing some tweeters, I may feel more at peace.

If there is anyone out there with a RMM on an automatic, preferably on a Gen 1 vehicle so I can compare, post me your thoughts.

    Thanks in advance.

Just install the JBR RMM. If you end up not liking it, you can re-install the original factory RMM.

Yeah. I should just see it as money spent. I think my mod season is coming to an end, from a budget standpoint.

The SRI totally changes up how much oxygen I get into the engine and, as a result, the car has a lot more torque around 2300 RPM. With the extra power, I often get the wheel hop I never had before. I think this is an issue for a lot of MS3 owners.
    Thanks for the feedback.

The Sri is the least of your worries.
The rmm will help regardless of gen or tranny.

I’ve been driving with an SRI for the past several years and can say the only thing it changes is the amount of money in your wallet...especially on these cars where the ECU simply compensates for the increased airflow. Don’t get me wrong, I'm not saying you're wrong to have got one (I bought into it hook, line & sinker too), but to claim it provides a discernible increase in torque or gives your car wheelhop is just rubbish.

Intakes on N/A cars is mainly for sound.
When I slapped on my intake I felt like I had tons of gain in HP/TQ. But that was me just driving the car harder due to the sound.
Put on the RMM, you can take it off if the vibes are unbearable.
I'll put down all my mods here so people will know how cool I am!

From Corksport website for 2010+ MS3s stage 2 CS SRI:
. In initial testing, the CorkSport Mazdaspeed 3 Short Ram Intake netted max gains of +25 lb torque and +33 HP.
    http://www.corksport.com/corksport-p...d-3.html?sl=EN
maybe a bit high or optimistic but there are hp gains.
Back on topic RMM for automatic.

The same way those natural pills on the internet wont make my cock 50% larger in just 3 days, 33 hp / 25lb torque is complete unadulterated bullshit. this type of misinformation only sullies the corksport name and casts them as shady and deceptive. At least K&N (the SRI I have) quotes numbers that are comparatively modest (6.6hp @ 5600rpm). I dont think theres any singular mod that will *actually* afford that type of gain on a N/A engine, let alone an SRI.

If you get a RMM, give it a chance to settle and most of the vibrations will go away.

Okay. I think I am going to proceed on installing the JBR RMM. Usually my kids are the ones in it .

I have to say that the CAI gives me enough of a HP increase that it works for me. It may not be much but [I]psychologically[I] it makes it feel faster. If I drove a manual I am sure I would notice it more, but my launches from a light and a shift from 1st to 2nd on the city street or a downshift from 4th to 3rd on the highway is noticeable.

I would love to have a MS3 but I don't and think the install of the RMM should ground the car even more. I will be sure to post a report and be patient about the settling in period, even though I hear there is not much settling with the Chrome Molly 88 durometer mount.

They posted those gains on a MS3 and probably with a new tune...completely possible.
