Default SkyActiv Direct Injection "carbon deposits"?

recently, on another forum, i read about how the IS250 (which also has a direct injected engine) has some issue with "carbon deposits on the injectors" which eventually cause engine failure or something.

Could the direct-injected Mz3 SkyActiv engine also suffer from the same issue?

Carbon deposits on the actual injectors? Hmm, I can't imagine how that would happen unless there's something else wrong with the engine.. If there's build up, I would think it's going to be on the valves.. The only reason I think would cause carbon deposits to be directly on the injector is if oil and stuff find a way to creep up there.. The cylinder is supposed to be free of oil.. The only stuff that should go in are air and fuel particles.

But hey, what do I know about the IS250.. The speed engine is also direct injected and I've never read/heard of carbon build up on the injector itself. If anything, the injector should blow that away with the amount of pressure it exerts.

Must be crazy build up then.. Well, that's what oil catch cans are for. It helps lessen the amount of crap going back to the intake track. I'm not so sure about the IS250 engine, but if it's something similar to the speed engine, it's got to do something about blow-by gasses.

Also, it could just be that the owner of that car didn't do proper maintenance.

Another Important thing to do to avoid build up is an EGR Delete

Without going into a lot of detail, the Skyactiv engine was specifically designed to mitigate the factors commonly leading to carbon deposits in DI engines.
