    Default Not hitting boost target

So I just loaded a Cobb stage 2 map onto my speed and I am having issues holding the 18 pound boost target that the tune is supposed to hit. I have a full catless turbo-back exhaust and upgraded fuel pump with the stock top mount and I was wondering if the type of gas that im using could contribute to the issue. The current tune is set to 91 octane and I was thinking about changing it and going to the 93 octane with the boost target of 19psi. I'm not sure what the issue is exactly and i was just hoping for any feed back on it.

you need to provide some logs, so that people can have a look at exactly what you're talking about.

the weather could also be playing some roll in how the car is performing as well. You could also be suffering from heat soak of the stock intercooler

I will make a few logs and post them up asap. Could the fact that I don't have a cat be responsible for some of it? And what do you think about switching tunes?

they say that running catless usually results in boost spikes, at least according to Cobb.

I will say that if you're not hitting the 18 psi boost targets, changing the tune to the 93 won't mean you'll hit the 19psi boost target. You need to figure out why you're not hitting 18 first.

and what do you mean by not hitting your targets? if you're hitting 17.5, 17.8 etc thats hitting your target for the most part. Now if you're down in the 15 psi range, then no you're not hitting target. Plus we need to see what your wastegate values are at.

    need logs...

What loki said about spikes is correct... I am running a catless downpipe and I get boost spikes up to 20 psi that quickly come back to 16psi and hold. I suspect you're hitting your load limits, which is the reason you're not seeing 18psi.

Well since the tune I have only spiked 19 once. The car holds between 16 and 17 at WOT. I don't know if I have to drive it a bit more so that the parameters of the tune gets set properly but when i had it at stage 1 it never gave me any issues. And right now i'm at work so I can't post any logs. I will tomorrow though

stage 1 is not stage 2 my friend.

hitting a 16 psi boost target is easy. My GT3071r is hitting 16 psi right now sitting in a box in my basement.....

NGK one step colder plugs. Did them at the same time as my fuel pump internals and that's the same day I loaded the new map on.

Sounds like the same problems I am/was having:
    http://www.torontomazda3.ca/forum/sh...itting-targets

There are a lot of factors to it and took me a lot of reading...I'm holding around 18psi now with some tweaks but am up against the mechanical limits of the stock BPV before I can go any further.

Logs are the starting point though and hopefully you've done your MAF calibrations?

Reading your post I realize that my issues are more or less the same. We have the exact same mods with the exception of the names lol so any advice you can give me will help.Problem is i don't know is I feel comfortable enough to start playing with the different setting on the car. knowing my luck I'll blow my engine. What are the basic adjustments I can make that might make a slight difference. I know that by looking at the logs you will have a better idea but where should I start?

Post up some good 3rd or 4th gear logs first...it is probably a similar problem but better to be safe about it. Also in the meantime just check to make sure everything is tight under the hood and you aren't leaking boost anywhere.

Also you could look into having a pro tune (there are a variety of people here that offer the service) if you don't want to spend the time learning how and/or risk blowing your shit up.

Like i said i'll post up some logs tomorrow and we can go from there. At least that way the data is there and we can see exactly whats going on with the car.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned it yet, but have you checked for boost leaks and/or a leaky BPV?
