How Many Mazda's Have You Owned?

on my 3rd currently :

1992 MX-3 Precidia with 1.8L V6 - 180,000 km - paint issues> hood and front fenders repainted by Mazda, quite a few warranty repairs
2005 Mazda 3 GT sedan - 240,000 km - no major issues except rust (repaired by Mazda), rotors (replaced twice) and entire clutch assembly replaced twice under warranty. At the end, engine was burning substantial oil
2010 Mazda 3 GX hatch - current ride

First and last for next 10 years, minimum! 2012 Mazda 3 GX Sedan.

I came from a Ford/mercury family and they lasted a long time until the late '90s rolled around when they went downhill.
One ford vehicle in our family lasted 24 years on minimal repairs (still ran but couldn't find another steering column to replace the one that broke!), another vehicle lasted 15 years, another 13 years, and last ford vehicle in family going on 16 years (sputtering away). Most recent ford (or mercury, I should say), lasted for 13 years (with last 2 years being miserable) and went to junkyard.

So far, I'm enjoying the 3 and have been hearing nothing but positive reviews on Mazda for last 10 years so it makes me very confident in my new vehicle. Funny thing, I never would have bought this car until I drove my bf's car when he first got one 2 years ago. My family will now be a Mazda family!

Upgraded to 2008.5 speed3 (current)

As much as I hate their rusting issues, my current ride has zero rust, and I just love the interior sooooo much I don't think I could go to anything else (except luxury which I probably will never waste money on)

Why do you feel as if the 3 is not good value?

I always felt that you get a lot of features as well as impressive handling and pretty good quality. Toyota, Honda, Nissan seem to be lacking in the features and excitement departments.

I drive the protege to work, my wife drives the skyactiv. She didn't want to drive a manual. Protege and speed are both manual.

Had a 92 323 with 1.8l 5speed. Car ran great at 300k but ended up selling due to electrical issues.
02 protege 5 289xxx when i sold it for my 07 Passat. Protege had a ton of mods but I just wanted something new.
07 Mazda 3 85k traded my lemon 07 Passat for it. Love my 07 mz3, I hope to do a few mods.
Had a lot more cars also in between.

Three mazda 3's within 1.5 years lol! , 2006 Mazda 3 Sedan, 2007 mazdaspeed 3 , and now as of tommorow , Brand new 2012 Mazdaspeed 3!

I've owned 4 now.

Bought a 2007 GS Sedan to fix and sell, drove it for a couple weeks, and really liked it.
Then got a 2008.5 GX Sedan, still loved the rides, had NO FEATURES though
Then I bought my 2007 GS Hatch that I am driving now, awesome car.
Now I bought a 2011 Mazda 3 GX sedan with 10955K on it, and am currently fixing to sell that as well.


These are the first 2 Mazda's. The 07 is black.
