"Smoke" coming out of air vents? weird

i was driving my car on the highway and had my ac on (max cold, on power setting 2) and all of a sudden i start seeing a smokey vapor coming out of the 2 middle vents. it got me scared for a second because i had been driving for about 3 hrs on the highway and i thought something was overheating, but no, temp was sitting right in the middle, everything was good. i turned the air off and still for about 20-30 minutes there was the same amount of smokey vapor coming out, it didnt smell at all. i thought maybe it was because i had my window down a bit, but its actually been bothering me as to HOW/WHY this happened, i know theres nothing wrong (i hope) but i just thought it was weird and i have no explanation for it lol.

a lot of condensation on the condenser probably. your not seeing smoke but probably a very fine mist. plus u had ur windows down and its hot as hell these couple days. cold air meets hot air = clouds/mist/water vapor. probably comming from the 2 centre vents because the air is moving slow enough while the out side vents are being blown too fast. it might even be that the freon in the a/c line is low too and isnt "drying" the air fast enough.

Is it really smoke? or cool air mist? Like the white mist you see when openning the freezer?

Hi Guys,
this same thing happened to me a few minutes ago.
The AC was ON,for like 20 mins, no problems. turned it off for a few minutes. turned it back on and saw smoke come out of Vents. turned AC off and ON after a few seconds, same thing... dint turn it on after that.
fyi, bought my car brand new in April 2012.
I understand people are trying to help but a reply from some one who has experienced the same thing or a mechanic would help (i guess for peace of mind)

i use to work for ford and people would come in and say theyre a/c arnt blowing cold, or theres clouds coming in the cabin. we would first check the freon level and it would be low.

its either that or its completely normal, but your in one of those "perfect storms" lol

Why don't you contact your dealership and speak directly with a service rep then? Besides your car is brand new and still covered under warranty.

np, just bring it up and have them check the pressure real quick, im sure they wont charge anything. im sure the pressure is fine, its been hot as hell these days and its gonna be just as hot in the next couple days too.
