Hey guys, first time on this forum. I was referred here by a friend who told me I should've been here before I got ripped off by the dealer I just purchased my car from Anyway, I'm excited about the new car. I'll most likely get it sometime next week if not shortly after. I'm looking forward to learning about my car and how to maintain it in top condition.

A quick question for you all is:
I've heard rumors about not taking your new car on the hwy until you've hit a certain mileage. Is this true or a myth? If true, how many km should I go with my car in the city before taking it on hwy?

As for your question that is a myth the thing about breaking in an engine is to not keep constant speeds. A good mix a city and highway is fine. Just don't go on cruise control. Also you should do your first oil change after around 1000km even if the dealer suggests 8000. Just to go the initial break in gunk out of your engine.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat. Not getting mine until the 24th, unless the heavens open up and a miracle is presented to me, but I just signed last night at about 8:45, so I doubt it. I will be there in spirit.
