I know it's still early and a lot of baseball to still be played, but if they keep this up who knows what can happen, title maybe?

My only gripe is the lack of fan support at home games. With a team playing this good we should be selling out every home game rather than have 20,000 at a weekday game, given there are larger crowds on weekends but watching them play to a half-empty stadium is very disparaging and also reflects on the team as well.

Come folks, let's go out there and support our Blue Jays. (Remember their the last team to bring home a major sports championship to the city)
Have you ever tried to get downtown for 7pm? If the stadium were not in the busiest part of Canada it would be full

    Does that even make sense?

I think because it is in the busiest part of Canada they get the attendance that they do

AcC is a couple hundred feet away and they are sold out every night

You mean hockey has a bigger draw than baseball in Toronto? How many seats in the ACC vs Rogers Centre?

Speaking for me, my family, and a bunch of friends, it's impossible to justify missing work for a baseball game.

I'm saying for you it doesnt make sense but if it were in say...kitchener you may get even less attendance

Alot of people commute in on the GO to watch the game. More so now that they are playing well

55k seating vs 25k seating at the ACC but the average price of a hockey ticket is around 125 bucks vs a baseball ticket at 20 bucks

True enough. I just think that if the city planned for a huge megasportsdome a little better, you'd get better attendance. Hence why so many pro arenas/stadiums are actually outside the city in the suburbs.

edit: WTF am I arguing for; enjoy the game! haha

Nah. Lechoke can't play baseball. He'll just cramp up playing under the sun.

I think Steve Bartman made an appearance in the 9th inning

I used to drive to toronto all the time for games and stuff but now with construction I many just go bus it from bramalea go. $7 bus ride each way per person instead did $15 parking + has that no one paid me anyways so I may go bus now till construction is over. I didn't even know how efficient to go bus was to union till that past weekend when I went to echo beach for skrillex

I admit - for years I've avidly tried to watch the Jays - but after a disappointing first half of the season .... I simply tune out.

This year - I did the same... But tuned out right before they're comeback streak

So now - I guess I'm jumping the bandwagon.... Until they suck again LOL

    LOL
it's pretty difficult for me to watch a game (w/ 2 kids). Best I can do is catch the highlight reels - which don't really give a good in-depth coverage of how the players perform.

Another sad part is the people around me don't watch sports at all Co-workers, friends and family are all bandwagon jumpers.

So even trying to talk about it proves pointless when eyes glaze over and topics quickly get changed

Pointless to go for a triple play with anyone out, since all you need is 3 outs.

If there was any outs the play would be dead once the 3rd out is reached anyway

Alex Anthopolous needs to put down the ****ing donuts and pick up a phone to find some pitching. This is ridiculous.

I don't know why Gibbons keeps playing Navarro. Got a great bat but couldn't throw out David Ortiz. Is it really worth allowing every runner to get into scoring position?

This thread may just turn into my personal sounding board.

unfortunately the jays aren't a pitching and defense team... canadians don't know much about baseball and think homeruns will win everything... people thought arencebia was good since he could crack 20-25 hr even though he struck out 150+ and sucked at catching and pretty much everything actually
