Want To Buy mz3 - buying in late January 2013

    Hello all
Long time member, few posts.. used to own a 2002 Mazda Protege LX2.0 a few years back and liked it a lot.
I'll be looking for a used Mazda3 hatch in late January- early February 2013 and would like to poll the forums for some input.

    specifically looking for
    - model year 2007-2009 (I dislike the 2010+ body, as I am guessing many do) hatchback
    - 2.0L with automagic tranny
    - A/C, power locks/windows, keyless entry
    - Aux input audio (what trims come with this specifically?)

Is there a specific trim level that this falls under for that range of years? It gets quite confusing.
I've seen many posts on autotrader for these model years, and there's a wide price range between $7000 and $12000. What's a decent price to pay for these? I'm hoping to buy from a shop or dealer in case I need to finance. At what mileage point does the maintenance menu fall off and become ad-hoc?
How many KMs do you all get on a tank with your 2007-09 2.0L Mazda3s?

    Thanks much!

    You're looking for:
2007-2009 GX Hatch with Power Package or whatever it's call

I believe all 2007-2009 models have AUX input.

You can consider 2007-2009 GS Hatch instead, it's GX with Power Package + some more features like fog lights, rain sensing wipers, 16", but 2.3L motor.

Note: The 2007-2009 Sedan is slightly different.

See below for my Fuelly. I do 95-100% city driving. I get about 500km before the computer says 0km. There's about 50-100km reserve. If I run it until nothing left in the tank, probably about 550-600km.

GX doesn't have cruise control. You'll have to do a retrofit to get cruise control.

Ok so then it looks like I don't mind the 2.3L GX/GS trim.

(Is it normal to not be able to edit posts in this forum?)

There's a certain amount of posts you need to have before being able to do so (I think it's 100). You can then edit your posts for a short time after the initial posting.

Does anyone know how long auto-trader ads are set to be online until renewal is required?

Not entirely sure but I've heard every Thursday they have new ads up. Don't take my word for it
