Let the man do what he wants....its his car and his money and its also hes responsible for maintaining it..

All these suggestion of "dont do it" will not help...but he wants to do it and determine thats why hes asking for help..he did his own research and found out his own info..

All we could do is wait and see how it turns out..

I lurked this site for months before I decided to post, I predicted I would get a lot of skeptical replies about the turbo, or the classic "get a ms3instead". I appreaciate that everyone is just trying to help and save me $s/ a head ache down the road. At the same time I'm confident in my friends abililty to help me maintain the turbo, not just install. I'm not looking to get the most HP possible, I would be fine even sticking with just 5 boost if that means prolonging the life of the engine.

Dude if you do your research and ask intelligent questions I'll always chime in (did a DIY turbo setup a number of years back) and I'm sure there are other members with MUCH more knowledge than me about the current platform that will do the same. People are always skeptical of the "yo I'm going to turbo it, can't be that hard" guy. Don't be that guy.

this. sounds like the guy who wanted to spend 8k on a carbon fiber roof because it saved 40 lbs.

I will be checking in to your thread from time to time. really interested to see how this setup works out. again, best of luck.

ha i remmber that. sure was good for a laugh or two. was pretty sure he argued about getting a hood and trunk even though it would have been cheaper and easier to do. but to each there own and if you have the money to do it. then do it. if i had the time and cash i would put a speed 3 motor / trans set up in my car. would love a speed sedan. but again, time i dont have and money i dont want to spend.
