not sure if many of you are aware of the new emission system, no more 2 stage idle. it is now OBD2 run, I've seen so many cars fail now for some reason it is a lot harder to pass!

mmmmm, im sure you can still to a TSI test, if your too low to get onto the ramp they would have to TSI it, atleast that the way we did it at my old shop and my buddy that still e tests told me it was TSI and OBD. could of heard him wrong. but yea, if you have your check engine light on or anything like that, be prepared to fail!

the sad thing is, your absolutely right lol i had an 03 sti, the only mod was a cbe, failed, no engine lights , no other mods, dont know why it failed! im sure you are all thinking..."we can by pass it somehow".. nope! the crazy thing is there is a camera hooked up the the machine so once a car is plugggd in you have to take a picture and it gets sent to the ministry to make sure the car being tested is the actual vehicle being tested!!!

alright so according to the drive clean facility whom i just called, aslong as the engine light is not on, if the computer is tuned it should be fine aswell. aslong as there are no major problems it should pass fine. i was gonna test my car today to see if it will pass but i have to pay and i dont wanna lol.

But you didn't ask what if you were blocking codes with an AP etc, you will fail for those systems not being ready.

If you reset Ecu before test, you'll also fail until systems are ready.

If you're not blocking anything using AP than a tuned car would pass without a problem.

Wrong. The car will still fail because the vehicle is outta the parameters of the ecu stock tune. The new emissions system comes with all the parameters of vehicles known to man kind.

Best way to pass is to do what the government does, screw everyone and pay off the right people.

edit: the only way to pass is to stock out then?!?!? cuz if so I am buying a lift for my garage...

Solution is to come Rent 1ftx1ft space at my house for 500$ per month for access to my address and then E-test is not required. The Joys of living in the country

You got to live IN Barrie first it is all based off Postal Codes... Mine does not require an E-test as confirmed with the Drive clean website and calling Drive clean directly. So my offer still stands

Why bother trying to pass it legitimately? Get a Cobb AccessPORT or some other EMS and delete the DTC tables for all the codes you want to skip, then force enable the readiness monitors. I know you can do both these things with the AccessTUNER RACE software.

This might fly with Subaru's but I am pretty sure you can't do this with the speed version yet....

This seems like a stretch. I live very close to Barrie and I've had to etest every car I've owned (92 Civic, 93 Civic, 2000 Sunfire). The only reason the online form said I don't currently is because my car is less than 7 years old.
