    Default Tom Tom GPS

I just want to know if anyone with a chinese aftermarket unit (like Koolertron) has replaced iGo 8 with Tom Tom. Reason being is that I am trying to figure out where I can get the software as I would like to try it out to see if it is any better than the original unit.

I currently have a Car a/v unit which came with my car ( purchased from GTA Fine Cars Inc) but I am unable to find an exact model number and the instruction manual has no website on it. Mine is very similar to a Koolertron so I think the gps software would work for both.

    Thanks

but that could be either defective receiver or the maybe try to place it somewhere else, maybe something is blocking the signal

Well the reciever is placed ontop of the dash and has a clear view of the sky. I think I will first check out if its a software issue before buying a new reciever.

These units run WinCE, usually 5, and they will generally run any WinCE application off the SD Card as the NAV software. If you can get a copy of TomTom for WinCE you can pop it on the SD Card and get it to work with minimal effort.

I've tried a number of softwares. iGO, Sygic, etc, and I find iGO Primo is the best. The Navteq maps are generally easy to obtain and update, and it's pretty customizable.
