Default 2012 mazda 3 HID highbeam need help

    1

I am looking at getting 2 HID kits
I am debating because how can i get my high beams witch are my Day time running lights on my 2012 Mazda 3 to work with the HID kit since they run at a lower voltage well they are in dtr mode

    2. Do I need a relay harness for my low beam Hids or just plug in any play?

    Thanks Merry Christmas

your high beams are not your DRL(daytime running lights) Youre DRL's are the yellow ish lights used during the day, then your low beams come on at night. You do not need a harness for gen2, but is required for gen1 (I believe)

You dont need a relay harness for your lowbeams since you have a gen 2 and your drlnare your highbeams. Why sould you want HID hi beams? Hi beams ade usually used to flash people for various reasons or to increase lighting for short periods of time. HIDs need time to warm up so it basically takes away from the uses/purpose of hi beams. I put HIDs in my bikes hi beams and took em out after a week because they were useless due to warmup time.

My mistake, never knew that. Yeah what tokic said is true about the warm up time. I just put HID's in my low beams, and manually turn them on via stalk to the left of steering wheel.

Dont use HID's for high beams, its not needed and as stated already with the time needed to warm up its not really a good option. If you want you can replace your drls and it would change the color of your highs as well if thats what you wanted.

Are you using 35w or 55w? 35w should be plug and play no harness needed. I have a 2012 as well.

dude, you should have absolutly zero issues with your HID's. Install the HID's in the projector housing (lows) and just keep your DRL's/highs alone and turn them on whenever you want I.e during the day. This is assuming you bought the H11 bulbs

Isn't your drl your high beam on lower voltage? I may be wrong there.
But if it is, there is no way to have them different brightness'.

Not sure how to disable them. I have 6000k for my lowbeams, 3000k for my fogs and my DRL's are Nokya Arctic Whites.

As I stated in another thread, try just pulling the DRL relay in the engine fuse box. Someone mentioned this might cause only one headlight to light up when you use your high beams, so test this first before you install the HIDs.

couldt he put 55w HIDs in his highs since his drl's run at 35w? the lack of power should cause the hid DRLS to run like shit because theyre underpowered, until he turns on his highbeams and get the full 55w.

I vote you try it, and if it doesnt work you can go from there. Do you already have the HID's?
