it's not just any rubber piece... there is a tension spring embedded in the core of the rubber strip, unlike typical wiper blades... typically, tension springs are 2 strips of metal that fit into the grooves of the rubber from the outside

thus, you can't just use any generic insert and expect it to work properly!

so, you must use the Bosch MicroEdge refills (hard to find), or just buy from the dealer

its not a MUST. ive been through 2 refills and they were both different designs (tension springs wise). i was able to make both work flawlessly, although i wont be doing any one this in the cold. the plastic might snap in cold temps. however, some designs may prevent you from using the refills as theMAN said.

gomazda3 has them for about the same price as op stated. you really only need the refill if the frame is fine. i need to buy a new frame though

    Hey guys,

I searched the forum this morning for which wiper blade would fit the rear window of a 2010 Mazda 3 hatch and couldn't find any answers for aftermarket blades.

I went to Canadian Tire and found the Reflex 14A rear wiper blade fits perfect. Looks OEM.
