Default To buy or not to Buy - 2009 Mazda 3 GS Sedan - 83,000 KM

    hey,

I'm considering purchasing a used Mazda 3, 2009 GS Sedan... I need some help here. Is it the right purchase, a good car? a fair price? 11,490.00 would be my purchase price.. Nevermind the extended warranty and finance fees etc. Is this a fair price? It has 83,000 km and another year of powertrain warranty on it. I was considering purchasing the 4yr, 80,000 ultimate (bumper to bumper) through first canadian - any input there would be good as well.

    Help! thanks

I wouldn't say that price is high, but I think you can get it for cheaper. For a GS you could probably get it less than $10,000. I am assuming thats a return lease vehicle

Really depends on the condition - accidents, rust, if it's clean, auto/manual, private/reputable dealer, but you should be in the $10k range.

    Seems fair.
Bought my 07 sedan 2 years ago for 10k. 72k km. So taking timing into consideration. Seems decent. Should be able to talk them down a touch though.

    My car.
5 speed, cloth seats, keyless, ac and power windows.
I know it's not the base model. I don't remember if gx or gs is base.

Although I do feel you may be able to find a better deal. Maybe something in the 2010 range for only slightly more.

You should be able to tack down at least $500, maybe even $1000. Personally, I don't think it's a good price. If it's a dealer you're buying from, try your luck with a private seller. Some may disagree.

P.S. That better be the 'out-the-door' or 'all-in' price. If it's not incl. tax + fees, etc. forget about it.

Seems fair. Check the body if its been repainted. Lots of lease return vehicles have shitty paint jobs. My car is a shitty lease return, and so many imperfections in it.

If this helps, i was recently in my local mazda dealership and noticed they were selling a 2012 mazda3 for around $15,500.00 it was standard, most likely the GX model, my point however is that for a 4yo vehicle I dont think that 11.5k is a great price. I bought my 2008 mazda3 GT for 8,200.00 last year with 100k km on it, maybe looking into private sale is better option unless you prefer having warranty, if so talk to your local dealers, i dont recommend going to shady car lots
