Under the hood sits an AMG-tuned 2.0-litre turbocharged I4 breathing through a sport exhaust system helping the five-door produce 360 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque. This engine is paired to a seven-speed AMG dual-clutch transmission and power is sent to the ground using 4Matic all-wheel drive. Mercedes-Benz says that the A45 AMG will be able to accelerate from 0-60 miles per hour (0-96 km/h) in under 4.5 seconds and it will have a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph); in the land of hot hatches, it doesn't get much hotter than that. For added performance and handling, AMG has retuned the A-Class' suspension and steering systems and equipped The A45 with a three-stage stability control system that is specific to this car.

wow i want one .... wonder how expensive it would be here. Given the EVO/STI and Golf R all top out between 40-50k I'd assume worse than that which is getting really pricey seeing as a C class AMG with no options starts in the 50's

pre-2013 models were utilitarian but the redesigned 2013 model is pretty sweet. the new powerplant is rated at 208HP/258 ft/lb torque and for what is included in the base model, good value for the money.

I have better hope in the CLA 45 AMG, making it over here. Maybe not with the turbo 4.

I drove the GLA250...it's not an SUV at all, it's seriously a hot hatch on stilts, even if they market it as an SUV. The speed 3 is just as big (if not bigger) inside.

The GLA45 AMG is just bloody expensive for what it is, you're looking at 60k+ out the door. You could get an M240i for less.

I have owned the CLA45 for a few years now. I have driven a GLA45 a few times when I was in for service. They are expensive but you get what you pay for. I came from a 2010 speed 3 and felt as though the CLA45 was a huge upgrade. Engine aside, its the technology within the car that makes it worth it for me. @runner2k
