    Default Spark Plugs STUCK!!!!!!!!

I have a 2004 Mazda 3 GT Hatch and i decided to check my spark plugs. After trying to get the stripped nut out for an hour, i found my ignition coil stuck to what seems to be the spark plug and i can't actually pull the whole spark plug assembly out without damaging something. HEELP PLEASE!

Yes but I got it out. When I try to pull out that whole assembly, the coil is stuck to the plug as if it melted on. If I pull, i'm afraid i'm going to stretch the coil.

Remove the bolt that hold the ignition coil and then twist the coils back and forth a bit. Once it stars twisting easily you can pull it off. It will still require some force to do so, just keep twisting and pulling at the same time.

try this trick, take a hammer, wrap the back end with duct tape and a cloth and slowly start trying to pry the ignition coil out. its pretty solid piece of plastic, but you've got to be pretty gentle to avoid breaking it. Once you have the coil loose you can determine if its melted on or if its just on really tight.

I have never torqued a plug.

It may be your threads are slightly worn. Give it another psi or 2. Just don't over do it.

For future reference, anti-seize is always a good idea when putting fresh plugs in. Makes the removal much easier.

antiseize is NOT recommended for a plated spark plug... it is not necessary, leads to over torquing, and will also cause the anti-seize to get baked on, making it work like glue!
only time you should use that stuff is if the plug is unplated "black metal"... if it's silver looking, it's plated!

Anti-sieze can and should be used on spark plugs, BUT the person doing it has to know what they're doing. That is: use very little in the middle of threads and reduce the torque when using the torque wrench. It's that simple.

But since majority of people have zero mechanical abilities and common sense the application will greatly vary from person to person, which will lead to problems. From company’s perspective it is far safer to not recommend using anti-sieze then to deal with people doing it wrong. Litigation costs huge money. Meanwhile if your plug is stuck despite all the fancy coatings, good luck getting NGK to remove it or pay to fix stripped threads.

If you replace spark plugs often, then I would not use anti-seize, but with today's long lasting iridium plugs, anti-sieze is a very good product to prevent stuck plugs or stripped threads, just use it sparingly and reduce torque setting by 10-20%.
