Default Trunk light/hatch light not working

-The one that came with the car doesn't turn on/off.

-Replaced with an LED light that fits in.. Doesn't light up.

-Replaced with a normal DE0322 light.. Doesn't light up.

-Messed around with the bulb (Adjusting, flipping/turning it).. Doesn't light up.

Anyone else have this issue or know how to fix it?

Did you put the bulb in the propel way? Sometimes polarity matters.

Have you checked the fuse for it?

I believe the third brake light uses the same fuse as the horn... check to see if your horn works.
If that's not it, a volt meter would be helpful to see if there's even any life getting to the socket.
Have someone press on brake while you put one pin on a good ground in the car and one on a pin in the socket (If no reading, check other pin).
Set meter to Ohms and check your ground wire with the car chassis to ensure the ground wire is connected.

Broken wires have been reported in the wire loom under the trunk, could be the case.

Its not the 3rd brake light, I'm talking about the light inside the trunk space when you open the hatch.

    The light on the right

I've flipped and switched the bulb many times.
    Haven't checked the fuse though.

    Thanks for the responses.

My bad... Thought you meant the third brake light.

When you remove the carpet piece to change the bulb, push the socket from behind (toward you) to remove it... disconnect and check and make sure the plug where the wires meet the socket is pushed in correctly, and in all the way (socket disconnects from wires via connector). If everything is good there, take the bulb out and check with a pin on each side with a volt meter... is there any power in the socket? Flip the switch, any power? You should do this voltage check immediately after opening the hatch, as I'm not sure if there's a timer that cuts the voltage after a period of time (in case you leave the hatch open, to save your battery from draining).

My car does the same thing, I am only getting 2.44 volts out of it

Most likely something is going on with the connector behind it. Take the trim out of the right side and check the connector running upto the bulb socket. I will post some wiring schematics tomorrow

Sorry for bumping old thread, but I have exactly the same reason as the poster. Only around 2.5V on the bulb pins. Also, the car doesn't recognize if the hatch is open, as the warning light doesn't light up. But I'm not sure if it's meant to be like that, I bought it like this.
