Hey fellas, wondering if anyone can chime in on the jack points for gen 3 cars.
the only image on the net i could find is this one...

this is 2014 mazda 6 but looks similar, as the exhaust goes through the middle.
here is underneath the rear of my car. i believe this is the jack point, but just wanted to double check.

This is the underneath the front. the ribbed area is shown here

am i doing this right? i dont wanna jack up car... and jack up my car lol

Is it not in the owners manual?

From the diagram above it looks like you pointed at the right spots

For the gen 3 side lift points. Is the right spot between the bolts (blue) or these ridges (red)? I think it's the ridges as there's ridges on all 4 corners and only the bolts on the front but I'm not 100% sure and the manual isn't that clear.

Sorry for such a dirty car.

Anywhere along there would be fine. I usually try to line up with the cross member (look further under the car, you should see a brace of sorts near there).

Front center jack point is near impossible to use, but rear is easy enough.

Seems gen 3's should be the same (most vehicles are).

Thanks. Yeah, the front center jack point seems like it'd need a very long jack to get to it and after that I don't see how you would be able to pump the handle.
My ancient car seemed easier to jack up as it had these platform areas on the side for jack points.

anyone been able to figure it out and have pics on the gen3?

I've touched the bottom and majority of the spots are really soft so I'm afraid I'll bend something if I jack it up

anyway to lift it up with the side sills without bending it?

Those central spots are impossible to reach

Just behind the front wheels or in front of the rear wheels you can see that the pinch welds are reinforced. That's what they're made for. Lifting the car.

Put your head under there and you'll see what I mean.

Still not really sure where to place the floor jack to lift my 2015 3 based on the info in this thread so that I can place jack stands under it on the pinch welds. I'm trying to do this from the position of someone who cannot reach the central jack points.

Based on this image for lifting with a professional lift in a garage, does it mean I can use a floor jack anywhere on the side sill flange within the area marked by the arrows to lift the car to get in onto floor jacks?

I use the center rear and center front lift points to lift up the car with a floor jack. See posts 26 and 31 for images.
I use a low profile long reach floor jack as that was the only one I could find that could reach with a hockey puck. Then I lower the car onto the jack stands for the pinch welds. I've never tried using the floor jack on the pinch welds.
