Here I am heading from Hamilton to trenton and going into oshawa i knotice a burning smell. My driver side hid has come loose and burned out part of the housing that holds the light in place.... i hope canadian tire is open.

How much for a second gen headlight unit?

You can replace just the housing part if you want I'm 99% sure. It won't be covered under warranty, but it will be cheaper.
Otherwise it's $400 I believe.

So as hyperion has mentioned. it seems like I will be able to just switch out the housing. il find out the price of the piece tomorrow and atm I am looking into the removal process. Maybe il switch back to non HID lights

To also add you can buy the entire headlight from RockAuto for like 125 bucks + shipping. All in all that would be like $180 all said and done

A) you just have to make sure your bulbs are seated properly
B) halogens run hotter than hids so the damage would have been worse had the same thing happened

It makes no sense why it fell out. I check them when ever I pop the hood. everytime they are in nice and tight. I wonder if the mechanic working on my car today touched shit? hmmm

I took this picture when I was on the side of the road contemplating my plan of attack. Which turned into breaking off all the crap and fitting bulb back in as best I could and then apply electrical tape around the outside to ensure fitment for the rest of my travels lol.

Lmao well atm the hid is still in and still works its just a bit crooked.

So I went and ordered what I thought was to be the part to fix the headlamp. it turns out it was just the rubber that goes around the actual clip. you are unable to purchase the clip. Like wtf?

Looks like il be buying a new headlamp entirely.

Can someone who possibly works at the dealer shed some light to why I cant buy this part lol. the guys at my dealer ship seem to be very uneducated on the vehicles they service. Is there maybe a phone number I can get to contact Mazda Canada?

To those who are curious. I am going to bring the clip piece to a mill wright shop and see if they could make a few up for me. If he can I may start a GB page to save anyone some just in case troubles.

I have no idea what I'm looking at, but if you take another pic showing the whole backside I can see if I have that part? I have a broken headlamp somewhere...2010 though.
