Default Recommendations on a HID Kit/ What H11 kit is everyone running?

    Hi all,

Looking at getting HID kit for the low beams, and possibly fogs. Both are H11 in my car. I know TRS has their kits, but I'm working if anyone has recommendations on an eBay seller or forum sponsor/member that has a kit that's worked well for them?
I would go scour eBay myself, but there are a lot of crappy ones from what I've heard. And I would look at HIDPlanet but I'm sure it'd turn in to a big flame war about why not to buy an H11 kit...

Cheers, and thanks for the replies!

I bought mine from Nexmod 6000k "HELLIGKEIT" last year Nov. 2012 and I didn't have any issue yet. I think they are a good quality HID.

I just got two H11 kits for my lowbeams and fogs about 2 weeks ago. I bought the kits off of techparts.com (or maybe it was .ca??)
Either way, they are both working very well and I got the two pairs (4 lights total with all other electronics) for 110 bucks. I picked them up because i was in the area, and didnt feel like waiting for shipping.
I reccomend you take a look. This guy sells a lof of LED's too (Very good quality for a great price.)

Don't go to NextMod, if you ever have a problem they'll deny ever selling the product to you/ever carrying it. pm SP3GT, Kelvin will take care of you

You either buy the cheapest kit which is garage16 (worked great while I had them), or you buy a kit from theretrofitsource. Everything in between is more or less the same chinese kit, but overpriced.

I went with the Morimoto 35s. Amazing reviews on them. They ran me about $150, but its worth every penny.

By the way I only agreed with going to Kelvin for the HIDs I did not mean to agree about what was said about next mod. I have yet to even go to next mod!

I've been looking at these recently. Waiting for my current ballasts to go out so I can upgrade.

Do you have pictures to show the apparent superiority?

Currently running O-NEX HID kit at 6000k. Both of my HID went out exactly 2 years later and I'm now going to a 12000k (purple) from ebay.

Sorry I do not have pictures. But I think the superiority in HID kids are mainly linked to their quality/durability, and not necessarily luminosity.

But just like some other members have specified, going wrong with Morimotos is highly unlikely compared to eBay/low quality kits.

@lprince never stated they were superior, he said the quality was amazing which is well documented by people who have them.

To the OP if you want something good, definitely go with Morimoto's if you dont mind paying the extra little bit. Otherwise the sponsors here can provide you with quality kits as well at a decent price to boot.

I had plenty of kits from G16, local sellers, kijiji, forum members and they all eventually emitted problems. Sure the service was good and replacements were a breeze, but still why go though all this trouble? My fiancee was extremely angry at the amount of money I spent on lights ever since owning the vehicle and said that If I want to get something done, get it done right. I picked up a set of 50w Morimotos with the heavy duty relay. It's been working great ever since. Not a single misfire, flicker, or rust on the relays. The relay is bulletproof, thick gauge wires with a proper fuse unlike those cheap chinese relays with those dinky fuses that look melted or deformed all the time and thin gauge wires that rust in a week.. I guess you get what you pay for, but is it worth it to save just a mere $70 and have the worry of it failing on the night you needed it most? It's embarassing and troublesome. I had my passenger side ballast go out on my way home from the falls after canada day fireworks of 2011. It was horrible and I replaced that ballast only to have the relay fail a couple of weeks later so I literally dumped both good ballasts into the garbage and ordered my Morimotos.
