    Question Parts list help

MODS: I posted this here because I didn't think fit any one particular area in the Technical section

    Hello all,

This weekend I am (with some, ok..probably a lot of help) installing a laundry list of items on my car.

The purpose of this post is to call on others experience to help me spot any gaps in my parts list to make sure I'll have everything I need.

I'll be listing here all the parts I HAVE (some will be kinda obvious, but I wanted to be thorough)

    Brakes:
    Pads
    Rotors
    Duplicolor Caliper Painting Kit
    Brake pad grease

    Rear Sway Bar:
    MS3 Bar
    MS3 OEM Bushings
    MZ3 OEM brackets
    Moog MS3 Endlinks (part # K750069)

    Exhaust:
    HKS exhaust
    Vibrant 2.5" gaskets (3)

Spin on filter conversion (For oil temp and oil pressure gauges):
    2.0L Oil filter mount
    2.0L filter mount bolts
    Filter mount gasket
Mishimoto sandwhich plate (part # MMOP-TPS)
    Oil pressure sender
    Oil temp sender
    K&N spin on filter

    Water temp sensor:
Water temp sender mount (30mm, installing in upper rad hose)
    Water temp sender

    Spark plugs
    NGK Iridium IX

Rally Armor flaps rear (fronts already installed):
    Rear flaps
    U-bolts (4)
    Moutning screws/bolts

Stuff I still need to get
18 or 24 gauge wire (to wire senders to gauges in my car)
O-rings for ends of wires (to attach to grounding point, anyone know the size of the grounding point bolts in the engine?)
    Shrink tube
Wire conduit (to protect wires coming from the oil senders in engine bay)
Thread tape that is oil resistant (to wrap threads of senders before I put them in the sandwhich plate)
Urethane/Plastic spacer for bottom hole of rear rally armor flaps
    Bracket for spacer
    U-bolts (I need 4 more)
    Bushing grease
Loctite 425 (Blue) for endlink bolts
    Spark plug gapping tool
    New brushes for caliper paint

Please let me know if you spot any gaps in my parts list, or if you have any recommendations.

    Thanks!

Make sure you have all the tools. There is nothing worse then getting half way through a job and realizing you can't find or need a special toll.

The main 2 ( for brakes) being the Allen key and the caliper piston compressor for the rear. It spins the piston at the same time it compresses it.
If you don't have one or can't find one needle nose pliers can do it. But you will need to open the bleeder valve.

For painting the calipers get a larger paint brush. The dupli-color brush is tiny and garbage. The bristles kept falling off on mine.

    PB blaster!!!!
You'll need it. And if you can start spraying now on bolts you need to remove.

Good idea about pre spraying the bolts! I'll spray em down a bit over the next few days.

The guy helping me out is mechanic so I'm sure between him and myself we'll have everything we need, but I'll ask him about the piston compressor.

If we do need to open the bleeder, should I have some brake fluid standing by in case I need to top up what I have once the job is all done?

Always good to have standby fluid. But I didn't need it.

For the fronts you'll only need a C-clamp. It's the rear that had to turn at the same time.

    Check check.

I know he did the brakes on his speed, so I'm sure we'll have everything we need. Still, good to know.

One question that has been bothering me, when the car is not running is there fluid in the upper rad hose? (When facing the engine, the large hose entering the rad on your right, just so we're all taking about the same hose)

I ask because when I take it off I want to know if a big chunk of my coolant is going to drain out everywhere.

Should I get a jug of coolant from the dealer to make sure I can top up my level after I put in the sensor?
