Default Custom cut leather steering wheel wraps

I remember searching for something like this on eBay a while ago, only to find those generic wraps that would fit horribly on our steering wheels. Now it turns out that apparently there's a far bigger market for steering wheel wraps in China than over here; check it out:

    http://www.aliexpress.com/wholesale/...22&groupsort=1

Scroll down past the generic donut-looking stuff, and you'll see them. Some of the listings have pictures of the packaging, and I've seen like at least three different brands, so they're not all the same. Unfortunately none of the listings seem to have English descriptions and I don't speak or read Chinese, but I'm sure someone here does.

Here's the cheapest listing with product options that aren't complete gibberish, a bit lacking in details though: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Free-...930886016.html
Here's a listing that goes into extreme detail about the product, but of course it's all in Chinese: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Free-...930886016.html

Any Chinese speakers here care to go through all this stuff and sift out the best one?

Redlinegoods does the best I've seen. But I think you have to send your wheel to them. Also pricy.

Ive looked on carID for something similar. You have to send in your wheel and it does cost a fair bit. What you should look at are leather inserts. All you need to do is know how to sew, which is what i think the product the OP stated.

ooof those look incredible if they're legit. Let me know if you end up ordering one; if you don't then I will. I have a perforated ebay wheelskins clone that was like $10 and looks epic for the price. Looks good because of the perforatd texture of the plastic wheel but the lack of spoke material erks me. the look is the same as this (no pics right now):

TM3 really has no Chinese brothers to help us remove some of the uncertainty from this purchase?

I posted this in the welcome section, but thought more people might notice it here. I have the opposite problem, my new GS-Sky has a leather wrapped steering wheel and I am allergic to leather and want to remove it. Any issue with doing this? would I be better off getting a plastic wrap and going over the leather?

allergic to leather? wow, that sucks... as for your problem, i guess u can post a trade thread in the classifieds if anyone wants to trade you for a plastic one. until then, i guess you could put a cover over it

what would be involved in swapping steering wheels? Seems like it would be a big hassle... Anyone know if the leather-wrapped wheel is just a regular steering wheel with a leather wrap? If so, should be easy to just remove it? Anyways, don't want to do a total thread-jack. Just didn't think it was worth a new post...

cheapest is to get a cover for it. best way is to get it swapped for a plastic (%100 leather free and guarantee the best look and finish). but will require the know how on swapping controls/airbags/ etc but a shop can do this for you. removing the leather wrap and replacing it could ruin the look if it isnt done right. even then the product may not last long because it may be low quality.

swapping steering wheels isnt as hard as it seems. but since youll be dealing with an explosive pillow case in your face, its highly suggested to take it to someone who knows what they are doing. either way, its your health and your car.

I swapped wheels on my Gen1 to get cruise, it's not that big a deal working around the airbag if you take your time. Took maybe 15 minutes. I'll trade you for my GX wheel, it's not leather. I'll even swap them if you want

Installed today, looks great exactly the same as in the pics. It comes with everything you need and shipping was faster than I expected (~3 weeks). I'll take pics when I get a chance but my parking garage is very dimly lit and by the time I'm done work it's dark outside. Oh yeah and install is a bitch and takes forever but that is to be expected when your hand installing and doing it while the wheel is on.

Definitely worth it. Any shortcomings on mine are entirely due to the install and not the product.
