    Default dexter's Logs

Well now that I've got my AP and have started logging I figured I'd post some logs.

Car is an 09 MS3 with 106,XXXkm on the odometer.

Currently I'm running the OTS Stage 1 - 91 map (was running the OTS 93 map but wasn't around a Petro when I ran out of gas so I reflashed the 91 for this tank). The reason I'm posting is on the way home from work yesterday I left my AP to live monitor knock and ended up with a 5.9 for the high value. I didn't even notice the AP go anywhere near that so I'm sure it was just for a split second but I wasn't too sure if thats a big concern.

Did a WOT log in 3rd and here are the results. I'm not seeing anything that appears to be a huge concern but I may be missing something here. Any thoughts on the log would be great.

    Thanks

Car knocks during normal driving to get better fuel economy

meaning runs more more timing then backs off through kr

you should also log boost air temp. (Bat)

Thanks for chiming in loki. Glad it doesn't seem to be a big concern.

I did log the BAT's but deleted that column to save space before screen capping. BAT's were about 88 at the start of the run, dropped as low as 76 between the 2.78 and 4.32 second marks and climbed back up to about 84 by the end of the log.

    Thanks again.

Log looks pretty clean, you might want to consider switching to 94 for better KR protection if you are worried about. You could tweak some things to dial in the AFR and then WGDC in a couple of spots if you have the free time.

Great, thanks Pat. I've been running 94 lately but had to swap back to 91 for this most recent tank as there was no Petro around and I was out of gas. I still need to get ATR on my Mac and then I can look into that some more.

    Thanks for the insight.

Alright, so last week I installed my JRB SRI and TIP and have been running the Stratified OTS Stage 1+SRI+TIP+93 map. I've been getting seemingly fine numbers in both 3rd and 4th gear logs but going WOT from 2nd through 3rd and into 4th was causing boost spikes up above 19psi (I've had 19.3, 19.5, 19.6 and 19.8 on several runs). I logged a 4th gear and had Lex on MSF look over it and he said everything looks good.

I've since logged a run through 3rd and into 4th and had a boost spike to 18.5psi and had some scarily low fuel pressures. Can anyone shed a bit more insight into some of this stuff? Why if I'm logging in 3rd and 4th are my numbers looking good but my fuel pressures are dropping so much as I go hard between gears?

    Thanks guys

edit: Sorry, this log is a 2nd-4th gear.

I'd hold off on logging. In my experience, colder weather can cause the FP to go below safe levels. Boost spikes most likely from the colder weather.

I figured that but with fuel pressures dipping that low am I not at a risk of the dreaded zoom zoom boom? Is there a way to minimize boost spikes? I tried the swapping to the Cobb OTS map (SF+TIH+93) and threw a CEL for running to rich at idle. Swapped back to the Stratified map and the CEL is gone but I'm getting pretty consistant boost spikes at WOT.

    Thanks for the reply.

Are you getting a tune done by Lex? If so, I'd let him take care of it so as to not mess around with his tuning process.

If you're just doing this on your own, you can change the values in the WGDC table to 20 from 2000 rpm and beyond and see if that will help limit the boost.

No custom tune yet, currently just running one of the OTS maps that Stratified released for the JBR intakes that are designed to run within the limitations of the stock fuel pump. Posted a 4th gear log on MSF and Lex looked at it and said it looks great but if I'm going hard through several gears I tend to get the spikes and fuels drops.

I'll look into the WGDC adjustments though, thanks.

You need upgraded HPFP internals, it will allow you to keep the pressure up with the cold weather.

Your fuel pressure could be dropping from a pooched relief valve but that is not very likely since you have stock internals.

The pressure in the log dipped there because you went super rich lol.

Hmm, is there a way I can get through the winter without upgrading my internals (run a stage 0 or something)? No doubt it's running rich, my bumper had been dirty as hell ever since I got my AP. Haha
