You first announced that you're ordering a CAI, Kiyomi suggested that you go with a SRI, telling you about the risks of hydro-locking with a CAI, all for your benefit, or your girl's since it is her car. I don't think she would be pleased with a hydro-locked car.

With everything Kiyomi suggested, it is up to you if you want to act up on it. At the end of the day, you're free to do whatever you like. This goes for everything people suggest on the forum, you don't have to believe what they're suggesting if you don't want to. Your car (or your gf's), do you whatever you want.

There is really no need for all this drama and epen fiasco. Maturity is the keyword here. No one's got a vendetta for you, don't need to be so hostile.

Thanks for you advice. I'm not being hostile on purpose here but I don't need to hear anyone's sarcasm, memes or gifs and shit talk from a bunch of tuner kids.

Bro.. YOU came HERE to ask advice. You got it, then went on some weird ghey tangent about fuel economy. There are literally hundreds of members that could help you out, but I honestly don't think they would.

I'm willing to pony up $100 that you're one of those guys that bought a $12,000 Cayenne ('04-05) with a bajillion miles on it. Even a base 320i (turbo 4-cylinder) would blow it out of the water... and don't even get me started on how the first-gen Cayenne (save for the Turbo) was a complete dog both performance and reliability-wise. Every single one I've seen is falling apart.

Yup, still have the '13 328i Sport Line. It's a lease... business expense FTW.

@TheZProjekt - Look dude, I don't know you or your invisible "HAH Gaaaaaayenne ( @Stathakos ) " and I get you don't need any sarcasm or bullshit but what do you expect from a bunch of "tuner kids" as you say... You come on the fourm and ask for advice from the guys, then bash and are very defensive when you hear something based on what someone else says... If you want FACT, and our responses aren't good enough, figure it out yourself because that shitty attitude you have won't get you far here. You don't need to bash other people for trying to give you advice.

OP, if you are going to solely rely on empirical data, you won't find it here. Particularly in regards to mpg. Only corksport can provide that. You should ask them.

FYI, for anyone else interested in this product, avoid all corksport new releases. They are usually plagued with issues (bbk, Sri, coilovers, sway bars etc).

What's the reason your gf wants either sri or cai? or is it you're just completely bored? You will not notice any difference before 4000rpm, then you start to hear it. At that point you are dropping mileage. Otherwise you won't notice the difference and probably won't notice change in mileage either, seems a bit pointless. If SHE is worried about filling up more often (or maybe shes on a tight budget, we dont know) then why do it. I have a sri, I have seen my mileage drop, even when I'm driving normally.. but I don't care, it's more fun. If I was worried about fuel economy I could have got a skyactive or something else entirely.

I got useful info from this thread already, I'd listen to kyomi, he gave you the answer to the question you asked with his experience and experience he's seen. You then questioned his qualifications for answering the question, you could do that with anyone that gives you an answer that isn't precisely what you're looking for, or even the answer you are looking for. Understand why people here might not want to help more than what has been given already? They probably don't want to help and then questioned as to their qualifications for being able to answer. It's like giving someone asking for money two dollars and then they go and ask for more, really? You got what you asked for and instead of being thankful you make it seem like their contribution is worthless. (I use "you" as the person giving the money in the example, so there's no confusion)
As said before me, you won't get a better answer here. There's many fuel economy threads, and even more closed ones, that may be able to help. Probably not though, the people here are enthusiasts, can only answer from experience, If you want proof, ask CS or someone else who makes both items.

On topic: Fact is, CAI or SRI will make no change to your fuel economy so long as it's properly designed (which the corksport one is) with a correctly sized MAF housing. The biggest change in mileage is from the way people drive them...typically with an intake you love the sound, so you rev higher before shifting, which uses more fuel and economy drops. As for power, you may gain a smidge of power (under 5hp) up over 5-6k rpm because that's where the reduced restriction of an intake will have an advantage. As for SRI vs CAI...both flow the same, but you'll get slightly better throttle response with an SRI and slightly better performance from stationary with a CAI...and by slight, I mean chances are you won't even notice it. Once you're rolling they're one in the same.

Now...bottom line, which to get. Go SRI, they are easier to install, there's less chance of water issues, and they're generally cheaper.

you are just like those guys that drive base model 3 series thinking they're rolling with the big boys.
Come on now! Mazda 3 is a Mazda 3, 95%+ of people (in general) don't know what trim it is when they see your car.
