If we do a GB consider me in. I plan on buying one either way in the next ~60 days
I'd be down for a group buy...assuming someone there could help me slap it on for my drive back to Ottawa when it came in
Me too, my stock one was torn off this winter while getting stuck in the snow
There is often a corksport GB organized by @SomeGuy - i imagine he has a good contact or something to that effect.
Maybe you could open a GI thread and see what kind of interest is here as it looks like there are a few of us already

Hey Guys ... ya ya ya , i know its an old thread ... but !
If you are invested into your Mazda 3 like i am, getting a Skid Plate is on my to do list.
Mine is still hanging on and were the plastic rivets no longer hold plastic tie strips are used
and they are constantly getting torn or rubbed off especially in winter.
So .. not sure who was coordinating this discount purchase buy group with Corksport in the past.
Im interested .. Either way.. im looking at getting one.
i'll post a response if is see the price drop over the holidays.
Cheers!!
G
Emailed Brett at Corksport and he said they are crazy busy and do not foresee allowing group buys.
So ... I'll just wait until they go on sale ...I think they will offer 10-15% off during the holidays.
Ya ...freight adds to the cost. Only option is to find someone local. I think did make them locally (for Speed3)
and can not remember who but in the end it was cheaper to get it from Corksport.
True ...they add more weight, about 12 lbs (Oem is about 1-2 lbs) net 11+ .
(i'll have to do a driver diet for the 11 ...lol)
But the oem plate is all wonky from being scraped up and speed bump banged
it probably moves around at highway speed and adds turbulence drag.
Corksport plate will create a more fluid air flow, hopefully i gain there.
I may have solved the weight issue. Also I was blown away (pardon the pun) on something i read about underbody air flow & diffusers.
An open under body , like many cars , vs a totally closed smooth flat surface, like on LMP and other GT series cars can decrease air flow by 24%.
Add that a plastic piece is flopping around at highway speed increases drag further , affecting gas mileage and outright performance and even stability.
Just adding the Corksport skid will increase , or not disrupt the under body airflow and adding a rear diffuser betters everything even more.
It may add weight but a big positive gain .
About weight... Corksport skidplate add +12 lbs
Mazda OEM plastic skid plate - 1.5 lbs
Chinese aftermarket Lug nuts presently used with Rims - 5 lbs (16 nuts)
Enkei Duralumin lug nuts + .75 lbs (16 nuts)
Im sure i can find 5 lbs somewhere else in the car.
My oem battery getting replaced in spring time . Oem battery weights 30-40lbs ?
being replaced with a 4 lbs lithium.
