    Default Lowering Springs Question

Has anyone in this Speed forum installed lowering springs on their 2nd gen Mazdaspeed and if so, have you ever had any problems or is their anything you dislike about them? Which springs would you recommend considering price and performance? Please remember this is a question about springs and not coilovers. Thanks guys!

I had my Eibach pro kits installed around 2 years ago. It gets my car to the right height and handling is better then before. However, the rear shock just went on me about 2 weeks ago. I kinda expected that since day one though.

Lowering springs on stock shocks/struts tend to wear them out faster as miako said. Mainly because the shock/strut is no longer positioned at the designed/spec height on lowered springs so they can't perform the way they were designed.

So you have been warned, if you go with lowering springs I recommend you get some shocks and struts at the same time.
There are some new ones on the market now like Corksport's or you can go with the tried and tested Koni's and Bilstein's.

Lots of good springs on the market just go with a brand that has a good reputation/good customer service.

    Because snowplow.

There's nothing special about lowering a speed 3 versus a regular 3 other than you can't interchange them. So just look for any other posts about lowering springs and you'll find your answer.

I had H&R springs installed in May 2011, they were on the car for just over 2 years/35,000k. I had them replaced with KW coilovers this past summer. When I had the H&R's removed one of my rear shocks was leaking slightly so it was good timing on my part. I can say the ride was comparable to stock in the summer, I"ve never drive the car in the winter so I can't comment on the ride in the cold months. I still have the H&R's so if you're interested sent me a message.
