I think it's 3 right to stop the "LOL" posts...
Maybe we should increase it to 4-letters.

To specify...minimum post should be 5 characters.
Some forums require even more. It goes to show the common denominator you guys are so proud that we have to reach down to cater to.

This thread and post relates to this issue that I raised:

Vince, I'm not completely disagreeing with you on this but I'm not convinced that increasing the number of characters will significantly impact the content of the forum. If you have examples or statistics to work with that would make the case more than anecdotal "there are too many 'LOL' posts".
For example, a quick search for "LOL" returned these threads - only one of which started with a serious question and even that wasn't car-related (the debt thread).
So I'd like to know where all the crap is that's cluttering up the techincal info. I see it's more prevalent in the MS3 sub-forum but I can't rapidly distinguish between threads that have LOL in them and posts which only consist of LOL.
It is not a singular incident nor am I targetting threads or users. This is an ongoing issue that needs a multi-faceted approach. Without beating the horse dead again, pls chk out my latest post in the "Like Thread". The Like's maybe one part of a multi-part solution. For single instances, I believe more vigilant modding could be key within sub-sections...but who the hell has time for that, amirite?
I agree there is too much useless banter going on... and some mods are participating instead of nipping it in the bud.
It's kind of annoying and ends in threads that are hard to read thru bc there is too much crap.
