Default An engine flush good or bad?

I heard that engine flushing is good for engine because small particles and sludge make engine contaminated.

So, it is better to do engine flushing every 25000km or 2 years.

    how about your opinion?

    is it good or bad?

I could not find any information about engine flushing in user manual.

if engine flushing is needed, please inform me a good maintenance shop for engine flushing.

I've never done a engine flush.... And I'm well over 200,000km

As as long as you change your oil when your supposed to then you don't need too!

it's a degreaser. it breaks down sludge and oil so it'll all drain out.

do you really want to take the risk of that sludge breaking off, and getting caught up in an oil passage? what about wearing out your valve train?

im a mechanic, and we never do engine flushes. if you're over due, do an oil change, drive it for a few days, and do another one.

if not, just do an oil change every 5k. synthetic is best if you can afford it.

How about 2 reasons you should?
    1. You've driven 50000km on one oil change.
    2. You're installing an engine that's been sitting in a junkyard for a couple years.

And it's not a degreaser. It's more of a caustic chemical. You drain half the oil, top up with the chemical, drive for about 10 minutes and proceed with another oil change.

Thank you for you guys reply and response.

So, you mean that engine flush can be harm or damage engine??

synthetic oil change per every 5000km is wast of money, i think.

it is reasonable for conventional oil (5w20 or 5w30).

When it comes to synthetic oil, i change oil every 6000km ~8000km.

Not necessarily. But why do it if it's not needed? I guarantee it won't make things better, but there's a small possibility will make them worse.

With a '12 Skyactiv change it every 8000km with 0W20 synthetic. With that you will not need an engine flush.

When I first bought the car (had 155k km) I put in liqui-moly engine detox before oil change and switched to synthetic. Since then oil change every 6000km, no flush or additives.

Most of Canadian tire additive are snake oil. Put in 91 grade gas once in a while to clean your injectors and no need of engine flush unless you bought used car with 150k +km on it and don't know the maintenance history. If you know the car has been maintained and had regular oil changes, no need of any additives.

your car has little mileage. just start putting in synthetic (german castrol) and change it out every 7500-10000. same with all your fluids... just change them regularly

i mean i think it all really depends on what you are looking to do like others have said. did you go 1,000 km over an oil change. so what no need to flush it. did you go 8,000 k over. might not hurt depending on condition of oil if it is still oil or turned into sludge. but as a preventative service once a year.. seems a bit wastefull. we have a service that its included with our injection cleaning flush system. but we dont offer it seperate unless the oil in the car is sludge and the car has gone a long while over the last oil change due and the oil is now a solid in the attempt to remove all of the sludge build up in the system.

This video is showing 'engine oil flushing'

Is there any maintenance shop having this machine or service?
My older sister's car is over 60000km, she want to do engine oil flush.

Don't do it. Why ask for all this advice and not listen?

As long as she's had regular oil changes, this service will NOT DO ANYTHING GOOD.

    Thank you for your reply.

I will not do it because my car is almost new and I changed engine oil every 6000~8000km.
