I'll be redoing both the door and the rear again later this year as its rusting again. thanks for the tip, I've since learned a lot more and watched countless videos on bodywork/rust repair.

Who knows, I may get it re-sprayed through a family friend's shop once body work is addressed. I was quoted an amazing price for quality work (uncle had a paint job done there)

Crystal clear. Didn't take a finished picture as it was too hot Sunday.

Also repainting grill trim piece gloss black as it has lots of stone chips from this past year.

    Thanks.

I'm stuck with it till it dies so may as well enjoy it. As much as I hate on this thing and all the grief it causes, I still love it when everything is working just right.

They say I'm an addict but I don't have a problem with alcohol or drugs. I'm an addict because I can't live without bass. Car audio is my addiction. And it will never change.

Two close trade-ins but I still have it. The engine still runs very strong, suspension not so much. You still have yours?

Went through similar feelings, except I didn't have your energy/motivation/care to still give it much TLC for small stuff lol good on you though. Freshening her up a bit won't do anything but make you feel better about it!

Would be nice to see the finished product. I purchased the 3M kit a while back, but haven't got around to doing it though as my lenses aren't that bad yet.

Nice to see you are still giving her some TLC.

What's the issue(s) with your suspension btw?

My baby turned 13 years old this month, nearing 330,000 and I still treat her like she was new lol.

Lots of clunking and rattling. Starting to sound 10 years old.

The 3M Finished product wasn't that great. Slightly less cloudy. My headlights have been done 3 times now, they're toast.

Sand it to 800 wet, then get 2K Spray Max clear coat from Car Quest and reclear.

Nope. Mines been gone since December 2016 before my daughter was born. Got the forester. Which got written off a month and a a half later. And the Outback I absolutely hate after all the issues I've had. So I'm back to another 3. An 08 GT Sedan that got a 2.0 swapped into it at some point in Its life.

Cool, best of both 3s, GT trim and the indestructible 2.0L
Good luck with it, hope its not a lemon like your Subaru.

Blown rear strut - KONI orange. waiting on Nextmod to get one in early next week; and try to process warranty claim through KONI for me.

Struts are all 4-5 years old; 100K+ km on them.

Should I consider replacing all at this point? The ride sucks at this point

also just an idea - OEM shocks/struts are cheaper. Do you think I could get away with swapping those in with Tien S-tech lowering springs? I need 2-3 years max out of them. From what I have read most say stock shocks/struts + lowering springs are no good to added stress.

    Stickers should be fine

I had Eibach prokits (which was lower IIRC) on stock 4 year old dampers. Ran it for 2 years with no issues and was expecting to last at least another 3-4 years (if I had kept the car)

Sport lines are lower stiffer than pro kits.
    2 years..probably. 3 years doubtful.

Go with some comfort for now and easier to sell. OEM struts/shocks and springs or similar. Did that after my eibach springs blew the konis. Actually wife is driving it now with my kid in the back. . I drive the SUV. Hmmmm.

@Jackal - I'm going back to OEM suspension. Ordered Monroe struts/shocks/springs from RockAuto - delivered to my door in less than 24hrs WTF....

I Cant stand the bad ride anymore & bottoming out frequently on dirt roads/ backroads / logging roads up north. I have been doing more canoe trips & travelling up north lately and need the extra ground clearance.

It will look weird and bad, but whatever.
If I start a GoFundMe campaign for a lift kit, would anyone pitch in lol? I'd raise it like that off-road/rally NA Miata.

I'll post the Tein S-Tech lowering springs in the classifieds next week when their off the car. less than 20000 km on them for like $150ish. PM me if you want them.

Wow! Rockauto has better delivery than Amazon Prime. Haha. They must have a warehouse for us Canadians or something.

You’ll get used to the SUV ride height. Haha. Your passengers will thank you.

I'll miss the added cornering performance but I'm definitely looking forward to the comfort more at this point.

    Wuss! ....joking.

Its funny, people that ride in my car state how smooth is rides, even a Mazda service advisor once, lol...go figure.

I replaced the shocks and struts with Monroe OE-Spectrum and they're actually pretty damn good, and I'm still on Pro-kits.

I find it harsh on some roads, but then many of the roads in T.O are a friggen disaster.

I'll be staying with my pro-kits for the duration, possibly another few years, then my dream car...
