bit of an update. A few maintenance issues came up with my car. While at Jimmy's for a routine oil change and skid plate install: we found several cracks in my oil pan which were result of the trailer hitch hit last winter, and a torn drivers side CV boot. both being installed next Saturday so minimal driving until thats all sorted.
Also the skid plate cannot go in until i have replaced the plastic side pieces that were broken when the original tray departed my car. As long as its in before snowfall: I'm happy

I picked up some wheel locks at MoT today for a good price. There is a debate whether tuner lugs are safe on my OEM rims. Nextmod and G16 did not recommend it as they may need frequent re-torquing and I may be wrong but I am only concerned with my family's safety so: wheel locks. better to be safe then sorry. They look the same as the other lugs so im happy.

Hyperion also installed my Hella Horns and took off my stubborn bumper to do so... sorry. They sound great when i get cut off

my GF also stenciled out a portal/ aperture science logo and Plastidipped it on the bumper i don't mind it.

Jimmy fixed all my problems yesterday.
painted my calipers today and installed the open mouth grill i picked up off @Tizmee24 . Plastidip and spray paint till i have the time to paint it properly in mica 16W
Chose black because my calipers were in really rough shape. don't want to take away from the rims and couldn't really pick a good colour to work with the purple lol.
    cellphone PICS, not the greatest.

Im in the Process of completely UN-Plastidipping my car. Honestly: I don't know what I saw in it. It is a cheap solution which fades and looks bad after a while IMHO. ( My opinion on black Plastidip on my black car)

I will be painting my open mouth grill so it looks nice with the rest of the car. Here's the before, and hopefully the after looks awesome.
    [IMG][/IMG]
The grill will be black, crazy purple mazda emblem to match the wheels and black mesh: maybe black with purple overlayed to create a very dark colour. I haven't decided yet.

Skidplate and RSB went in at Jimmy's on Thursday. The car feels great on on/off ramps and all ready for winter (NO MORE HITTING TRAILER HITCHES PLEASE).

    +1 armor.
    [IMG][/IMG]

Lastly, ill be working on the little things. Ill be painting emblems and interior trim pieces Crazy purple, and VHT Nightshad on the reflectors and side markers as suggested to me by many at every car meet LOL. I'm painting all of the stuff I got from Standard auto wreckers just to be safe and keep stock spares. Just something to fiddle with when I'm bored.

Yep. The grill doesn't sit flush, doesn't bug me. The rim looks black because I did a quick edit on my phone: to desaturate every other colour so the purple comes through. My phone makes them look blue

Just had 160K service with jimmy, Car behaves better, and on the way home cyclist nicked my rho plate while I was parked. Re-positioned it much closer to the car along the bumper and its as tight as can be.
Also, make sure you change your cabin air filter. Mine was pretty scuzzy.

Found a bunch of similar pics as I visit my parents quite a bit. Annotated for fun

    1. Brown steelies at stock ride hight. I was broke in UNI and could just afford gas and insurance. God this looked awful
    [IMG][/IMG]

    2. Even worse: I lost a bet to my GF and owned up. That was one painful week
    [IMG][/IMG]

    3. Still had no monies for anything so I spent $7.00 turning them a nice dark blue. Prokits also went in when replacing my blown suspension. Id like to go much lower.
    [IMG][/IMG]

    4. Winter mode looks identical to summer mode when broke. GT rims were being powder coated at Stripping Technologies. They made quite a nice coffee table when unmounted
    [IMG][/IMG]

    5. Summer mode... finally after a full year on steelies.
    [IMG][/IMG]

    6. Nice and clean on Sunday. The car will remain like this. If I were to go lower: definitely need aggressive spacers as well. Always a thought.
    [IMG][/IMG]

    7. Tonight
    [IMG][/IMG]

1.5 years so far. Hopefully a few more left to go.

Bit of an update. Thule roof rack installed a few weeks ago and I don't know how I lived without one. No good pics as my car is painted salt white right now and isn't very pretty.

My OEM steelies are B-b-b-bent and 2 tires need to be topped up every few days. The tires are also unimpressive for a set of winters as I cheaped out on them 2 years ago. Getting a set of Hankooks from Tire Connection on Saturday.

I Picked up some used mazda 6 wheels for winters and had them powdercoated gloss black through Stripping Technologies Inc.
These are the second set I have done with them and again, the quality is amazing for the value. I'll leave a separate review in the other thread. Very good experience.

    [IMG][/IMG]
@McGuyver_3: They look a bit different now

I tried to get pics from multiple angles to show how well they were covered.

Another small thing: I had some stickers cut at the PMall when I was sick last week. Got a discount as I told the lady working at the store that I can remove them myself. $10.00 for all three.

Nope. Would have only saved 20 or 40 bucks depending on how many people. My rims/ tires are being retired this Saturday as they don't hold air.

I have look through their Facebook page and saw a few colors. A few I liked. I wonder if they have some sort of color chart with out me having to drive there LOL but mostly what I want is to fix the terrible curb rash on my wheels. Make them purrrrty again.
