@Noisy Crow go back and check out the install pics on page 1 from a member here (2010 5MT) and you will see that he re-used his "stock" vertical bolt, but had to change the horizontal.

My understanding is the horizontal is M12x70 but the threads are not the same as the mazda (ie, coarse vs fine)

I was planning to hit up Brafasco after I got my mount to get a quality bolt - it's easy to take the mount into the shop and get one that fits...

Thanks, I was almost 100% sure I had the right bits... But it's never fun having everything apart only to find you are missing some weird ass order-from-the-dealer part.

I also I have a MS3 rear mount in my collection of uninstalled parts. . The bolt is the same length and diameter for both. The MS3 one is fine thread, and the threads do not go all the way to the end (end of the bolt has a sort of chamfer). The Ford bolt is coarse thread and the threads go right to the end. Thread pitch is a shade under 2mm.

Went to bafasco this morning, 2.42 a bolt and it fits perfectly. I got two sizes. Want to see what jimmy thinks but anyways they got it

Installed and feels great. I'm really enjoying no vibes lol. Got jimmy to delete my second resonator as well while it was up there.

Let us know how your install turned out.

Which bolt did you end up getting for the new mount? Was it from the dealer or another shop?

I am wondering if one could use a longer bolt on the Ford mount (so it sticks out the side) and then attach a locking washer, in addition to having loctite. Thoughts?

You won't need longer than a 12 X 70 because the mount is threaded already, That's the one I used and jimmy said it was perfect. The mount feels great and there are no more vibes in the car. One of the best mods I've done lol

In for updates on Gen 1 cars

Are there still issues with dealers not stocking the bolts?

That's the one goes through the center, the one that goes across you can pick up from bafasco for 2 bucks.

What's the size of the bolt though. I don't have a bafasco in the US but there's a similar place

Once we have the specs (and maybe the Ford p/n) for the bolt, can we get the first post edited to include it?

As I mentioned earlier, the Ford part number for the horizontal bolt to fit the CM5Z-6068-A mount is W500545-900. The vertical bolt will be the original Mazda one. If you were to buy the bolt separately you would need a M12 x 70mm flange bolt, coarse thread and high strength (Class 10.9).

That part number is not the horizontal bolt it's the vertical one that goes through the rubber

Edit. The part is 12 here. We need 14 but I can't find its number

No, according to the Ford parts guy the catalog lists the vertical bolt that goes through the center as W716238-S442 - that's a M12 x 64mm bolt. I installed the W500545-900 bolt - M12 x 70mm, and it is a perfect fit. Shrugs.

Picked mine up today from Pickering Ford, $52 ordered in, next day. Went to Brafasco and they gave me the bolt I needed for free. Overall great value, looking forward to getting it installed. (2.5L)

Did you guys use a washer when you installed this? Between the bolt head and the first contact with the mount. The bolt I purchased doesn't have one.

If you have a flange bolt then you wouldn't need a washer. If not, then I imagine you would, at ~ 1/16" I don't think it would have any negative impact as the bolt normally extends just past the mount anyways.

I monitor my fuel mileage and after running with this for awhile, it seems my average consumption at this time of year has dropped about .2-.3 L/100Kms from previous years. Nothing else has changed. Anyone else notice that? If true then another positive (practical) reason for this mod!

I ended up using a lock washer and thread locker to be safe. So far it feels great, much better shifts and over all feel. Only time I get a bit of vibe is on start-up. After seeing the stock one no wonder it needs an upgrade. Great mod for $50.

Picked a mount up from Ford this morning since my CPe mount has shit the bed. We'll see how it goes long term, as mentioned in this thread, it's hard to beat that it costs under $60.

Don't really want to spend a ton on it and for better long term you need the Stage 2 mount at $200 US........$60 Can is much more palpable.

Can warranty the bushing on the CPe and put it back in if the E-mount goes down the road.

Plus the Varrstoen's finally came in so I need rubber.
