I've been reading this thread because I'm in the same situation as the OP….125K km, completely stock and only normal maintenance done since I bought mine in 09. Its time to do a few upgrades and updates…swapping out all my fluids, replacing sway bar bushings, thinking of RMM and a SRI.
If I'm going to instal an OCC is there anything I should be doing first to alleviate the build up that exists or have all these km already done their damage so that it's not worth it? Will a round of Seafoam do anything to help?
    Thanks

I just recently installed the OCC and I wish I had done it earlier. Not that anything bad has come out of not having it, but I want to keep this car for a long time. I think it's worth it even at 120k, especially if you follow it up with an intake cleaning which I plan to do this summer. I don't have any experience with Seafoam because I think a proper cleaning will give much better results and once the intake is cleaned the OCC will keep it clean.

I'm putting in new control arms right now. My lower control arm bushing ended up being worn out. I had the option of ordering aftermarket bushings and having a mechanic press the it in for me or buy a complete control arm and install it myself. I decided to go with the latter because although it's more expensive it includes the inner bushing and ball joint. It's worth pointing out that if anyone's changing out control arms themselves then its also a good time to put in the front sway bar bushings since you'll have better access to it from the wheel well with the control arm off + from under the car if you remove the metal brace that's past the subframe (metal brace with a small panel with holes in it and has 5 bolts). Because of the extra room, I didn't have to drop my subframe to replace the sway bar bushings.

sorry for the late reply @png. sounds like you have a better handle on this than I do though, I believe my mechanic ordered OEM. have yet to go and have it installed

I got to 172k before I sold my '08 almost 2 years ago. In that time I went through 4 rear shocks, steering rack hoses, 2 sets of front and 1 set of rear sway bar bushings, and of course maintenance items like brakes, plugs, coolant, brake fluid, etc. 120k kms is a good time to get all that irregular maintenance stuff done.

I have 135000km, been wanting to get something else for about a year, but I've had almost no issues and its been paid off for 2 years now.
    4 years later,
70000km - New plugs, new belt,02 Sensor shit the bed, new shocks all around.
115000km - New front brakes, sway bar bushings. rear shocks
Everything else is original, even the battery. Oil changes ever 5000km and still drives like new.

150K no issues. plugs twice, Front and rear sway bar bushings, front endlinks, brakes and that's about it. As for the numerous people that mentioned replacing the rear shocks, were they leaking or was the car just riding horribly bad. How did you know they needed replacing?

You will notice some leak and notice it on your driveway/parking and when it is getting worse. The ride will be more bumpy.
    I replaced mine below 100ks.

When my shocks went out there was a squeaking sound coming from the rear when going over bumps. You may also see fluid leaking from the shocks.

With all four of my rear shocks they were completely blown out, no oil left. The whole bottom of the shock each time was caked in oil and dirt while the good one on the other side was not. First shock went bust around 25-35k kms I believe. The car would act extremely bouncy in that one corner and throw the ass of the car side to side over larger bumps, especially on harder cornering.
