I meant to say all Mazda3 markets vice trims. My understanding is that it is widely implemented in Mazda vehicles in Europe and Japan, but that the technology wasn't credited by officialdom in the US for generating fuel savings. Unfortunate.

It's pretty much a standard in most of northern Europe.

Any updates on the specs for 2015's (except for the manual GT)? I assume there will be no changes, since it's a new model..

Haven't heard anything yet, but I imagine some things will start trickling out towards end of August or beginning of September.

The US 2.5 GT MT for 2015 is over $1k less in price than its auto counterpart. Hopefully that proves to be the case in Canada as well.

the shop manual has been updated to include the 2.5 MT in it... so what has been said is true!
it does have shorter gearing in it compared to the 2.0 too

Shorter gearing, or taller? Normally, more powerful engines receive taller gearing.

My hopes may be just that. I've just heard that MCI is pricing the 2.5MT the same as the AT. Can anyone confirm?

Hm, I would be surprised if the manual version wasn't discounted, unless they throw some more tech into it. If you look at the configurator right now, the automatic transmission is a $1,200 add-on on the GS.

If the new GT manual came priced at $24,655 ($1,200 less than the current AT), that would be pretty good.

If you look at the 6, the MT and AT are the same price. I hope this isn't a trend. Anyway, a dealer told me that was the intent with the preliminary 15 pricing on the 3 GT. Maybe Mazda will adjust on the final pricing.

Probably enough corroboration. Jeff, can you explain why the 2.5 MT and AT are the same price, and the 2.0 MT and AT have the usual $ difference?

Someone in another thread indicated that the 2015's would start shipping in mid-to-late August. Can anyone corroborate this? I would have thought it to be October at the earliest (since that's when the 2014's first started arriving last year).

Sounds about right. Dealers start to receive the 2.5 MTs in September.

My current pricing shows them identical.. but not the first time I have seen that..

They did the same thing on the RX-8.

I figure if you want the GT, you get to pick your trannie..

If you want to save money, grab a GS in a stick.

Thanks. Same with the 6, at both the GS and GT levels. Interesting that the US 3 GT is over 1K less with manual. Do you have anything from MCI that explains why they have priced the GT MT and AT the same? Also, I've seen the pricing breakdown for the 15s along with options. Is that something you can publish here for others to view?

Hrmm... was on the verge of signing off for a 2014, but now I wonder if I should wait for the 2015, for no other reason then the hope that it would have a few less potential bugs. Of course, that would probably also mean losing some 0% financing years...

    Decisions, decisions.

Seems to be some conflicting messages on the timing. I spoke with someone at a dealership who indicated that while the GX and GS models are now shipping, the GTs will be another couple months (apparently the serial numbers haven't even been assigned on them yet).

I haven't been able to see any images, apart from the spy shots of the camo car that have been captured. Are there any significant/notable changes visually to the 2015 that set it apart from the 14?

I've ordered a 2015 GS (just this weekend) and am waiting for a VIN and ETA. As soon as I hear anything I can pass along.

Looks like the GS models are delivering now. Dealer just called to say my 2015 will be delivered this weekend. Yay! Not sure if the GT models have a slower timeline...

    GS Red Convenience manual. Stoked.
