Question Need help with buying tires

I have recently posted a thread asking help looking for rims and a lot of help was given as i have ordered them and currently waiting for them to come in. Hopefully someone can help me with a low profile tire size for 18"x8 width perhaps a brand of tire as well?

Do you do a lot of city driving ? Highway driving ? What is the split ? Are you interested in performance or longevity ? Do you have a price range in mind ?

I stick to city driving and would like to have long lasting tires. maybe no more than 120 - 160 a tire with it being flush with the car? Any ideas?

Long lasting and 120-160 a tire cannot be put in the same sentence together.

I recommend Falken fk453. They are a bit sportier, but have the low profile you want with good performance. They will run you about $740/set installed.

Yeah i figured if I'm paying $1000 for rims i should go cheap on tires but I doubted myself as well ahaha but thanks again Hyperion. But can you tell me a size perhaps? i have 225s on atm and i find when i turn it rubs against the wall but also like to have low profile.

Yes, you should definitely cheap out on the one thing that comes in contact with the road when driving.

Personally I think Falkens are garbage... I find them to have horrible wet traction and they give a super harsh ride. On the upside, because the rubber compound is so hard, the tread does last a bit longer than most high performance tires. I would go with a Yokohama Envigor or a BFGoodrich G-force Sport, they are just out of ur budget as they both retail for about $170 per tire. In an ideal world, you would want nothing but a Michelin but then ur talking over $200 per tire.

I've run Falken 912 and 453. Hated both of them. Found them loud and treadwear was not great. Both were not great on wet pavement either.

I took a chance and picked up some 225/40/18 Neuton NT8000 for $465 taxes in (cash price not installed). Been on them for approx. 5 months so far and have found that they have performed well and the wet performance has been good too. Haven't driven them long enough to judge treadwear yet.

I can still get them for that price. PM me if you want the info.

bro don't cheap out on tires. that could be the worst mistake you make for your own safety! there's a superior tire on duffrein street about 2-3 blocks north of downsveiw.
give them a call. you may be able to get a good set of tires for a reasonable price.
