    Default New but experianced

Hey everyone my names Jay, im 23 years old engaged and have a 4 month wee lad. Born and raised from the Ottawa Valley, im currently an apprentice carpenter if you have any questions feel free to ask. Ive been around cars my whole life my grand fathers a mechanic my uncle owns a junk yard in the area so im not a complete newb when she comes to vehicles.

Ive got quiet a bit of forum experience, as ive managed some forums in the past, and also have created forums. I have alot of web design background before i got into carpentry, ive got to work with major companies like youtube, google, facebook etc. I try to stay away from design now and pick up of alot of side work with in my field.

I currently rip in a 07 mazda 3 GX has the 2.0L in it more the wifes car.. as I prefer my trucks im currently looking into a 2500-3500 HD from GM
hopefully this forum will be a better place the Mazdas247.com's crappy experience. my experience here so far has been awesome have spoke to a few sponors already for parts.

Dodge sucks. Have owned them since 96. The 2500 cummings turbo, brakes ever oil change and 7 transmissions.

Had sierras as well. Great trucks that take a beating. Totaled a front end of one and only had to replace body parts. Everything else stayed in tacked.

my current dodge had 9k worth of repairs after 198k and only 2 years old. The entire front end and full vent system.

You know what though every company whether its dodge ford gm all have their problems... it really all just comes to luck whether or not it breaks my 97 sierra 4.3 vortec took a beat no truck has before lol. Now alot of people mistake diesels as a grocery getter when they are far from it. Not saying you im saying general population goes and buys a diesel just for driving around.. and roding them. Diesels are a work truck they are ment to pull not pull around 4 people with some groceries roding the living shit outta them. Diesels are also not ment to be roded lol unless you tear the motor apart and rebuild it for high rpms and the abuse. If you use a diesel for what its ment for she will break 10times more then using them what its for.

I can pull a 14ton dump trailer loaded everyday vs someome who hauls maybe 200 pounds ill break down less then they will believe it or not

Your right im pulling it with a cummings but I wanna rebuild the cummings for track and by a brand new duramax. Only way my trailer would be loaded 14ton would be with gravel or wet soil which is verry rare

oh my trucks are work trucks. Thats for sure. The 96 in particular had about a ton of weight on average, sometimes loaded to the tits. I constantly have a heavy steel glass rack, tools and glass on the truck.

The engine in the cummins was great. The truck itself was a POS. I always felt the truck was to big/heavy for the mechanical comps.

The second dodge was a 2500. That was just a lemon. Broke down 4 times in 25k. Got rid of that.

Moved to a 95 gmc 1500. Had the same weight as the cummins pulled it just as well.

Now drive an 08 ram 1500. Other then the entire front being replaced under warranty its actually been decent. 290k on it now (bought early 09)

I will say that the Dodge extended warranty is amazing. I do all my own service and when the tire almost fell off ( 198ish k) I didnt have 1 receipt. There was no questions asked.

As much as I hate on dodge. I'll most likely end up with another one. Lol.

I know theirs no g in cummins lol I prolly hit it, I type pretty fast and hit extra letters as im going along. Yeah dodge was the first company to come out with the "Eco diesel" on a 1500 model. They will have a shyt tonnn of problems with it. Ive got lucky with my dodge however non of the suspension is stock ive got alll after market, motor same thing turbo went on it at 95xxx blew my head apart so buddy and I rebuilt the motor haven't had a problem since. Only thing I havnt dont was rebuild the back diff but ill be taking it off the road soon to other sell it or build a crazy track beast. Be a good father son project I think but shell be a while hahah with him only being 4 months old

the problem with the cummins and front end issues, i honestly believe the entire front end is too light for the heavy weight of that diesel engine

There's a G in cummings if you're hitting the right spot.
